Well, you never said which form you had as there are over 100 different forms of hpv.. Not to mention, they found out condoms don't protect against transmitting it.. So the number of people getting it are rising.
I have the type that affects the cells and tissue in my cervix. I too thought my life was over because when the doc first told me I had hpv, first thing I thought were the warts since that was the only one I had ever heard of. Lol. But luckily that wasn't the type.
Unfortuanately, right after finding out I had it, I developed stage 1 cervical cancer. So I had to get the leep procedure done (where they cut out the cancer, cancerous cells and tissue). Not fun, that's for sure.
But as getting pregnant with hpv.. It might be a little harder as long as your paps come back abnormal. From what my doc told me is, when a test comes back abnormal, the hpv is kicking up. But when it comes back normal, it is dormant at the time. So when it's in full blast, when it inflames your cervix, could make it a little harder to conceive. When it's dormant, it's like you never had it, so your chances are what they would be if you didn't have it.
From having the surgery I did, I have the chances of not being able to become pregnant so easy because of the scar tissue I have now. It can mess with your period, depending on what type you have. But just to be safe, I would take a pregnancy test to be sure. If it comes back negative, get into your doctor.
