Ok, so I am almost 9 days late, I have taken several pregnancy tests (all neg) but I am in china so I am not sure how fast there tests can detect pregnancy but about a 5 days ago I got all the symptoms like I was about to start so I just figured I was not pregnant. Well, about 2 days ago a began getting pain down low in the center and not on the sides like normal, and it only lasted for about 20 seconds and about 10-15 times a day. Also I still have not started. I thought this was a little strange so this morning I took a test expecting it to be negative but I casually looked at it and it showed a faint positive line, so I quickly took another test and the same thing. I could not believe it!! I am still trying not to get too excited. So I am about 6 weeks if I am. Is the pain normal? The only symptoms I have are breast tenderness (about 5 days) a few headaches, flush cheeks and that's about it. I guess my only concern and question is the pain, it's not real bad about like my worst cramp pain and only for about 10 seconds. I am assuming my uterus is just growing and stretching; I have no spotting or bleeding, just clear to whitish discharge.

It sounds like you are definietly pregnant. I recently found out that I am pregnant. I think about 5 weeks. This would be my third child. When I first found out I was pregnant with my second child the pregnancy test showed a faint line also. I would say if you saw the line, faint or not, you are pregnant. The cramping is normal as long as there is no bleeding. I am right now experiencing alot of cramping. Just try to relax as much as you can and make sure you schedule your appt with your doctor by your 8th week. :)

Thanks for the email, info and encouragement, my husband is still in denial so it's nice to know someone else thinks I am pregnant besides myself :-). We did plan this but I had myself convinced that I was not prego and I think I convinced him too much. I actually am only 5 weeks and 3 days prego, I figured it wrong. My lmp was oct 24th, is 5 weeks correct? Why is it important to go to the Dr. By the 8th week? I am a little nervous about going to the Dr. In china and honestly want to prolong it as long as I can. I heard that I can just go get an ultrasound without actually having to have an exam. I will at least to this by the 8th week to make sure it's in the right place. We will be in a larger city in thailand the end of jan; do you think I need an actual exam before then? This is probably where I will deliver also. I have been checking other stuff out online and it seems that they type of cramping I am having is just normal stretching of the uterus and ligaments. And still no bleeding, praise the lord. Well thanks again, we might be due around the same time, that's fun!!! When was you lmp? Have you had any morning sickness yet?

My lmp was oct 26, so we are going to be due around the same time.. That is really cool! I'm guessing I am due sometime the beginning of aug. I go to the doctor on dec 20th, so I will get my due date then. Its important to be checked for you and the baby. You will need blood work done and throughout your pregnancy other testing. I'm sure it won't hurt to wait alittle past your 8th week, but I would make sure to get checked as soon as you can. The doctor will also put you on prenatal vitamins, which you can buy over the counter at any drug store. You should do that until you can get to a doctor. I don't know how things work over there, but here you can not have an ultrasound done unless you are under a doctors care. Are you originally from the states?

Yes I am originally from the states; my husband and I have been living over here for about a year and are planning on staying about another year. And i’m sure they have probably never heard of prenatal vitamins :-), they are big into herbal medicine and traditional chinese medicine. I have been taking some multi vitamins with folic acid and I have a friend sending me some prenatal vitamins express mail. Yeah here you can get a u/s without having an exam, and it's only like 8 bucks, it's easier than having an exam done, so I hear. I am going to take another test tomorrow and if it is still positive then I will look into trying to find a Dr. And maybe getting a u/s. It's awesome we will be due around the same time.

This is my first pregnancy ever, and I had myself convinced I couldn't get pregnant, but my husband just had to prove me wrong :-) i've had alot of cramping these last few days but its starting to lessen to maybe a cramp or two a day, so I hope that is okay. My boobs are sore but no morning sickness which I hope stays that way! Well congrats to ya'll two- shanrie

This is my first pregnancy ever too and I also thought for sure that we would have problems; I never would have imagined that we would have gotten pregnant on our first try. Congrats!! Gotta love those husbands. We worry ourselves for no reason. My cramping is about the same, it has lessened also, I too hope this is ok. I had not had much morning sickness until today. I went to try to have a pregnancy test done at a hospital (using all chinese, you can image the frustration) and they just did the same kind I have here at home, they same thing mine came up with (a faint line). Well they said I was pregnant and I asked if I could have an ultrasound done to just make sure it is in the right place. Well, I lay down on the table and she gelled me up and said that my bladder wasn't full and that I needed to drink some water. So I went and bought two bottles of water and sucked one down as quick as I could (as it was getting close to closing time) and waited about 45 minutes. During these 45 minutes I started getting nauseated, it would go and come and I am one that absolutely hates to throw up and I will fight it to the bitter end. So, I began to feel the urge to go and went back and asked if we could try it again. I laid on the table and she was having a hard time seeing anything and said that my bladder still wasn't full enough and to wait a few more minutes. So, as soon as she got finished I just couldn't hold it anymore, I threw up in a cardboard box by the bed, I felt terrible but there was nothing I could do about it. So then another lady comes in gels me up a third time and still she says something about still not being full enough and to come back tomorrow. So, the moral of the story don’t drink a lot of water at one time. Yuk! My boobs are rally sore too, I had to sleep in a bra lat night, gross! I am also from texas what part are you from? When was your lmp? We are from down around houston.

I'm from austin orginaly but I reside in ft.Hood (yuck) until around april when my husband gets out of the army then we are moving back to austin. My lmp was oct 25 so its still very early and after 2 different brands and 4 epts later I trusted I was pregnant ! My 1st doctors appt is tomorrow with my general pract. Doctor so he can confirm pregnancy and refer me to an ob. I'm so excited but I wonder if he can test for hcg levels or if I have to wait. I've got this funny feeling its twins lol it would be my turn in my fam and I took an genertic ept about 5 days before my period was due and a very strong line showed up so either im further along then I think or maybe there are 2 lil ones making my hcg higher. I dunno lol. How long have you been married? Ken and I got married on 11/28. We where planing a wedding for april but after we found out about the pregnancy we went to a jp because the military pays 100% medical. Well anyways I hope you have a great day - shanna

So I went back for my u/s today and they could not find anything in my utures, I asked if it was an ectopic pregnancy and they said that it is possible that the fetilized egg had not reached the uterus yet, do you think this is possible? I know whatever happens is in the lord's hands!! Thanks for any advice you can give!! My husband and I will have been married for 5 years on dec 30.

When I go to my appt. Here in 20 mins I will ask my reg doctor maybe he will know if that is possiable or not, who knows i'm sure everything is ok. And i'll keep ya' in my prayers.

So, I spoke with a Dr. From the states and she said that she is more concerned with the pain I am having than the fact that they did not see anything in my uterus. She said that it may be too early too be able to find it on a u/s, and plus it’s china and we don’t exactly know how reliable their equipment is, and I had a real hard time understanding, since they only spoke chinese. Thanks shanna for checking with your dr, I would love to hear what he had to say and how your exam went. Hey how old are you guys? I am 27 and my husband is 25. Thank you for your prayers, please ask that I would not worry and have his peace that surpasses all understanding, and that I would continue to trust him no matter what happens. Thanks again!!!!

My doctor was super rush rush today :-( but he said he was quite sure and that I should ask the ob so sorry on that aspect. What do you mean pains? My cramps have all but disappeared except for a few small ones at night mainly. Are you haing more than cramps? The sharp shooting pains every now and then are normal to from what i've heard. I hope everything is okay and that the chinese are just being (not to be rude) stupid. Have a great night and i'll talk to you later - shanna

Shanna, no problem with the dr, I know how it can be in the office. Yeah when I said pain I was talking about the cramping. She said as long as it stays at this it is ok, and it has actually lessened a little, but kicks up at night when I lay down. I had a hcg quantitative done today, my level was 1166, which I think is good, and is a pretty close to what is should be, I will go back in 4 days or so and have another one to make sure the level is rising like it should be. I also read online that you won’t be able to see a sac or fetus until your hcg level has risen above 1200, which is extremely reassuring. So I think all is well, it was just too early, but it was good to get the hcg done and let a more reliable test tell me that I am pregnant. My husband definitely can't say if... Anymore :-). So did you Dr. Confirm your pregnancy? When is your appointment with your new obgyn? Ok, thanks again, keep me posted

That is good news! Yes all the doc did after arriving at 10:30 for a 10:45 appt and finally being seen an hour later was had me pee in a cup lol and he goes congrats! Lol I asked to be referred to a ob my best friend went to becuase i've heard nothing but good stuff about him. He is a ob for high risk pregnancy which I am b/c of the hpv my ex gave me which cause pre-cancerous cells to develop on my cervic. But the nurse at my doctors office is suppose to call me monday with an appt date for the ob. I would really like to know my hcg levels but I have to wait :-( my best friend suggested making up a pain and going into the er to get an u/s and whatnot lol dont know if I can lie that well or not but might have to if my appt is not until jan or somewhere around there. Thats good with the cramps because my also seem to be that way, only a few at night mainly when I lay down. Well have a great saturday and talk to you soon!

Hey guys, i have been so sick today. However, I don’t think it was morning sickness, maybe a virus or something. I woke up and my stomach felt nervous, you know like when you are really nervous and it makes you have diarrhea. Well I wasn't nervous but did have diarrhea. I only threw up once all day long but was super weak (did not even have the energy to sit on the toilet, I would sit for a while, lie on the bathroom floor and then sit a while longer), no appetite, couldn't hardly hold my eyes open. I slept on and off until about 3 this afternoon. So, my concern is for my baby, all day I kept thinking I need to eat, I need to eat. I took my vitamin and kept it down about 3pm, I know pregnant women deal with this all the time but it just concerns me that I did not have anything until after 3pm. What kind of harm can this do? My cousin got a bad stomach bug when she was about 8 months and ended up going into the hospital b/c she couldnt keep anything down and they gave her an iv and everything turned out ok. Well I hope you are feeling better. Babygirl im confused help with what?

Shanna, yes I am feeling better today, it's really strange, it's like a 24 hour bug or something. I woke up at 2am and was starving and ate a bite and went back to sleep around 4am and have had a normal appetite and feel fine. Really qiguai (strange in chinese). However yesterday there were a few times I wanted to just die. Glad that is over and done with for the time being. Thanks for sending get well wishes my way. Margaret, sure I would be willing to help but I am going to be a new mom too (man, i'm gonna be a mom, that's weird) I have a book that tells a lot about things (even shows you have to change a diaper), it's called conception, pregnancy and birth. Another book I have borrowed from a friend that "successfully and naturally helps the baby synchronize their feeding wake time and night time sleep cycles" called baby wise. So as you see, I know nothing about it, but am learning.
