Breakthrough Bleeding?
Posted: 11-29-05 18:29pm

I needed to delay my period so I skipped the placebo pills and started onto a new pack...I read breakthrough bleeding can be a side effect from doing this and I am now on my 2nd week of pills and started bleeding...Should I continue taking the pills and hope that the next time I take placebos I will get a period again? Should I be concerned about the effectivness of the birth control now? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

I would still keep taking the pills as normal and you should be protected. I skipped the placebo pills once to not have my period and it worked out fine for me. I had talked to my doctor first, and she said I may experience breakthrough bleeding from doing that, but luckily I didn't. It probably just messed up your system a little bit, so your period may be off. But I would continue as normal and wait to see what happens next month! Hope this helps!
