Q: Does Breastfeeding Really Help You Lose Weight?

I just wanted to know from mothers who have breastfed their children if it helped them lose weight a lot faster! I tryed with my first daughter, but she just wouldn't latch on right, but I am 30 weeks pregnant now and I am going to try with my second! So just wanted to know! Thanks! :d

I read that breastfeeding does help you lose weight as long as you stick with it. Each time you breastfeed, you burn 500 calories. I think I read that in the new babytalk magazine.

There are a lot of benefits that you and your baby could get in breastfeeding and it does help in loosing weight provided that you wont depend on breastfeeding itself as it also requires self-discipline because after you give birth normally a women's food intake would excess to the amount of calorie required per day.
