Condom And General Contraceptive Question Posted: 12-03-05 11:19am
My husband doesn't like using condoms.
He says it cuts his circulation off, and
he never comes when wearing one (although
he is able to stay hard). After sex with
a condom he isn't interested again for
weeks-- he says it takes that long for his
penis to recover. I went off birth
control because it screwed up my hormones.
I was sick feeling all the time and had
no libido. I am really glad I went off
it, but now that my husband won't use
condoms, I don't know what to do. The
other problem is that my vaginal area is
very sensitive to things like spermicide
and I have terrible burning. I have to
use all natural lubes-- ky doesn't even
work for me. So, here we are... No sex
life and no hope that we'll every have
one! Any ideas?

I am really sensitive too, and condoms
really bother me. I was on birth
control, and it really messed up my
hormones and stuff, like I was crazy!!
Well, the doctor suggested ortho tri
cyclen lo, and I have been on it for, well
this makes my fourth month, and I haven't
had any weird side effects, and my period
is really on cycle now. This is the only
form I use, because I am really sensitive,
even though I am a little weary with just
using this and not a back up method. I
am interested to see what other people
have to say to this, just what else works
well?

Did you try different kinds of birth
control? I absolutely hated yasmin but
i'm on ortho tricyclen lo now and I feel
like myself again. You should try it if
you haven't already. I hope you find a
solution!

Oh, and maybe your husband should try
using a bigger size condom. He may be
using one that is too small and that's why
it's uncomfortable for him.

There are now so many different type of
contraceptives than just the pill. For
example, the ring, depo, patch, iud.
Research these other types of
contraceptives and talk to your doctor.
Even with the pill, there are some with
less hormones.
My doctor stuck me on a pill with the
least hormones possible because i'm a
small girl.
So I reccommend looking into other
methods. Usually changing the type of
birth control can help.
I've been told by my boyfriend that
condoms do the same thing to him. He says
he only feels something if he penetrates
really deep.
Condoms can also cause burning or pain for
the female too (there is also the female
condom if you want to try that)
as far as the burning, you could have a
vaginal infection.
Anyways, your doctor can help you find
something that works.
