Im not sure if I have an eating disorder
or not, but lately i've been getting a lot
of comments on my diet so im starting to
wonder if somethings wrong. My diet mainly
consists of sweets. Every day I eat a few
candybars and little else. I generally
eat whatever im in the mood for because I
figure my body knows best. If im hungry
for an apple I eat an apple, but if im
hungry for a snickers bar then i'll eat
that instead, very very rarely am I hungry
for something healthy though.
My weight is normal-im 5'6 at about
115-120, I dont overeat, I dont throw
anything up and ive never starved myself
but im really starting to think there
might be something wrong. What does it
mean when someone always eats sweets???
Im 20 years old and ive been this way my
whole life-where all I want to eat is
candy, no real food. My parents never
deprived me or overindulged me in sweets
as a kid, however now that ive been "on my
own" im begining to realize just how
extreme my diet is. Is this an eating
disorder??? When I try and make myself
eat something healthy all of a sudden my
stomach will get "full" so I cant eat it,
I literally feel like all I can eat is
candy and I dont know why! Im begining
to wonder if its some sort of psycological
thing. If anyone has any idea what type
of eating disorder (if any) this is,
please post a reply.
Thank you!!!!

I don't think this is an eating disorder
at all simply just horrible habitual
eating habits. I would suggest finding a
nutritionist to include healthier foods in
your diet. Eating junk food can have
horrible physical effects on your body
later on in life. While you may not be
overweight at all you are not providing
your body with the nutrients necessary.
Therefor the nutritionist will help you
come up with a good eating plan while not
cutting out all those snickers bars!

Before seeing a nutritionist i'd suggest a
full medical check sometimes weird eating
is because of something we lack or need.
At age 38 I discovered that the reason I
ate food with my salt was that I have very
low blood pressure & when I fell
pregnant with my daughter (now almost 16)
I started craving ice, I chewed the stuff
(yes, just plain ice) night & day
(drove my husband insane at night) & I
kept it up for several years afterwards (
& have recently started it again)
eventually I found out that it was
probably due to low iron levels (i have
always been aneamic but..).
So I suggest you get sugar &
cholesterol levels checked &
everything else & do some on-line
research about what causes a craving for
sweets or why can't I eat anything but
sweets?
Because if there's an underlying medical
issue(which may be minor) then a
nutritionist won't help, but if there's
not then see the nutritionist.
Also maybe the "healthy" food you are
trying to eat isn't what your body likes.
My daughter eats any vegetable except
potato (in any form) eats all fish so long
as it's not fried (prefers grilled) eats
all fruit except banana (to which she's
allergic) & getting her to eat pasta,
rice or bread of any kind just isn't worth
it, she loves nuts, cheeses & desserts
& gets all the nutrients she needs
from foods that "turn her on" instead of
"off".
So maybe try looking at some recipe
books/cooking shows etc to see if there
are some "healthy" foods that appeal to
you & try eating them & see what
happens.
