Hello everyone. I am a 26 yo male that
has just been diagnosed with gad. Or
atleast that what the doc thinks. I have
always worried about things that I could
not control since I was 10 years old.
Mainly religious issues, and world issues.
I would not be able to go to sleep, get
so scared I would start throwing up..
Crying, etc... Well about a month ago I
started feeling light headed and dizzy..
The symptom lasted one night.. Then last
week I was light headed and dizzy again..
So I went to the doc and advised him of my
worries and he said that it was anxiety...
Ever since then I have been scared to
death that I have something neurologicaly
wrong with me, and that I was about to die
of a brain tumor or something. My hands
and feet would start sweating really
bad... My heart rate would be 104 beats
per minute.. I would start shaking.. I
have been going through this for a week
now. I am terrified and dont know what to
think.. Please let me know what yall
think I should do.. Thanks

Accepting that you have anxiety is the
start, read as much as you can on it (this
forum is great) and then try differant
technics to deal with it. If you need to
go on meds until you sort yourself out -
that is fine! Don't think that you are
weak etc and don't let anyone tell you
they are bad. Some people have to have
them for a while to sort through this
disease!
Trying things like - breathing exercises,
programmes like - lucinda bassetts, herbal
remedies - like chamamile tea, exercise
and a new thing that I am looking into
thanks to a post on this site eft
technics, involves tapping certain parts
of the body to release energy (i think)
haven't started it yet.
Once you know what it is and how certain
things can help you can get back to
leading a normal life!
If you need to talk email me.

I thank you for your reply. I seem to
think I am falling apart. I had my wife
take me to the er the other night because
I thought my feet were to cold. It seems
that I am trying to find something wrong
with me. I feel so bad that I am putting
my wife through this. I wish the meds
would hurry up and kick in. I am sitting
here at work constantly shaking my legs or
something. I cannot be still.
I have come to some conclusions though. I
have crohn's disease and I do not eat
properly. I cannot drink any milk or eat
any dairy products. I just now..Meaning
yesterday started taking a supplement for
calcium.. I also started taking 500mg of
b-12.. I dont know if I should be doing
this, but I dont know what to do. I do
know that I dont eat right. Mostly fast
foods because I work at night and never
get to eat at home with the wife. I will
use today as a example. I did not get up
until 12:30pm.. I did not eat nothing
until 5:30pm.. Thats how almost eveyday
goes. Pretty crazy huh.

We live in a hectic world! I think the
statistics are 1 of every four have a
mental illness. Anxiety is almost a
given! I have had anxiety problem for
about 12 years. There is so much you can
do to help yourself. These forums are
helpful. I would begin by getting a
complete physical, blood work and all.
That should help you to rule out illness.
Next, I would suggest going to a psych.
Do not be scared of the name this is to
help you, help yourself. In the meantime
do your body a favor and eat right. Stop
all caffiene, smoking, drinking or any
other poison you are putting into your
system. Just eat right, get a good
multivitamin, sublingual vitamin b complex
and drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. If
you can walk for 20 min. A day too. At
least this you know is good and will help
your body handle the stress it is under.
Be very patient with yourself! There are
sooooo many books, tapes and forums out
there to also help you. Good luck!
