I Am Having a Baby And Have No Insurance Posted: 12-05-05 18:35pm
Well that subject just about says it all.
I applied for help from the government
but to my sadness my husband and I make
just a little more than what the income
regulation is. So, now I do not know
what to do. I am 2 1/2 months along and
have not yet been to a doctor because I do
not know what to do. Does anyone know of
anything else I can try or what I can do?
We do not have enough money to pay for
our child out of pocket, and we feel
stuck. Any suggestions would be great.
I live in oklahoma if that helps at all.

Where did you go to apply for assistance?
I would call them back & ask them if
there is an alternative, since you do not
qualify for government help. In my city
there is a prenatal clinic through the
city health dept. They put you on a
sliding fee scale, so you may have to pay
little or no money for prenatal care.
It's really great. I've had to do it
before. And this is not the same as being
on medicaid.

can you prove you are pregnant--blood test
urine test??
As soon as you can prove you are
pregnant--it will change the income
guidelines, unless you already applied
with the pregnancy on there.
If you understand what I mean.
I am eligible for .S.S.I--but my husband
makes just a few $ too much for me to get
it. I have found recently if I can prove
I am indeed pregnant--i may still be
eligible for .S.S.I and I will be eligible
for state medical insurance. I think
they call it medicaid here. But I have to
pay for u/s to prove I am indeed
pregnant--for blood test and urine test
for .H.C.G does not come out for me.
