Hey...New to this but I had a question no one seems to be able to answer.....Im looking to become "active" sometime in the future and I dont really want to get pregnant but the thing is I dont have a regular cycle so does that mean I have a less chance of getting pregnant if and when I decide to become active?

If you are looking to become active in the near future, I would make an appointment with your doctor asap to get on some form of birth control. Also, always use a condom .Every time you have sex. Here are some stats you may not be aware of...

1 in 4 people has genital herpes
1 in 5 people have chlamydia
close to 80% of sexually active people have the virus that causes genital warts and cervical cancer.

Please be .Very careful.

Good luck and please don't rush into anything.

I'm glad that you're looking for advice before becoming sexually active rather then afterwards asking the chance of you becoming pregnant. I'm still a virgin, but I will say that you should wait till you really love the person you're with. Don't just jump at the first opportunity. Since you said you were a teen, realize that you have plenty of years to be sexually active. Wait until you're ready. :)

If your periods are irregular, then your fertile time will be harder to recognize. In your situation I would be extra careful because you may have no idea when you're ovulating. So it won't necessarily mean it will be more difficult for you to become pregnant. But I would take the advice of the other posters - don't rush into anything. If you meet someone who is not willing to wait, then he is not for you:)

also - there is a website that I really liked to keep track of my cycles before I got pregnant. It tells you when you are due for your next period, your next ovulation date, & more. And it's free. It is mymonthlycycles.Com
hope this helps:)
