Me and my husband think that there is a great chance that I am pregnant. I took myself off from the patch ortho evra because it kept causing me to get really painfull oviaran cyst. Every day I am in so much pain. Can this do anything if I am pregnant? Do I need to worry about anything?

Ovarian Cysts
Brooke, when you become pregnant you will also have a cyst that will form on one ovary or the other to help support pregnancy, provide increased levels of progesterone, until the placenta is formed, intacted, and mature enough to produce the hormone on it's own. I had a pre-existing cyst with my first child and then had one form on top of it after I became pregnant with him and one of them ruptured and it caused no problem. Relax, I am sure you will be fine but call your ob/gyn just in case and get an appt. Good luck

Hello! Like nickiesbaby I had a corpus luteum cyst(normally occurs during fertilization) on my left ovary but my gp said it would diminish after the first trimester which it did...During those time when I had the cyst I was monitored thru ultrasound to measure if its getting bigger or it will endanger my pregnancy my doctor said the ovary and the uterus are far from each other. However since you have a preexisting cyst you have to consult your obstetrician/ or tell the nurse when they take your medical history records during first prenatal checkup if its really painful you also have to advise them as it may cause premature contractions. Good luck!
