Quick question for you guys. I am
suffering from anxiety. I always think
that I have some type of terminal illness.
In regard to that, did anyone ever feel
like they were suffering from Lou Gehrig's
disease? I've got symptoms that can be
attributed to that and I'm really, really
scared that I might be dying from that.
Please let me know if this is serious.
Thanks guys.

Since you admit you have obsessions about
disease, I doubt it, but what are your
symptoms.

I suffer from many of the symptoms
mentioned in this post but I find it
rather hard to see what's going on as some
sort of anxiety disorder. When my symptoms
began which were three months ago things
were going a lot better than usual in my
life. Now that I feel like this and worry
all the time I can't be happy anymore. So
much stress and I can't do what I used to
be able to do.
nausua, head-aches, muscle teitching itchy
skin or random rashes, itchy
nose/butt/ears, stress, anxiety, the
feeling like you always have to move,
weekness, sensitivity, tiredness - i
seriously think if you detox your body -
whether in the search of worms or not -
you will really help not only your body
but our mind too. and that's not just
another stupid herbal plan remedy thing
which doesn't work. i have done it and i
passed 5 worms. i feel amazing and i felt
like you did before.

I don't really have an "itchy skin" kind
of problem. I guess the closest way to
describe it are many of the symptoms
associated with "Fibromyalgia"..but I
truly do feel as if I am deteriorating
from the inside sometimes. I am so beat
all the time. It feels like I am wasting
away. I too have been to the ER a couple
of times and they say the same thing. Some
sort of anxiety.
BTW - What did you use to Detox your body?
I don't drink or do drugs..but i can
surely eat healthier than I do.

Here is a word that I would like to get
some feedback on. I'm new to this forum.
Just want some general opinions on the
drug. Thanks, Zow the Alien
PS: stlnovafan17, get some blood work done
and when they most likely find nothing,
you'll need some good coping skills along
with some kind of med.

I would just like to say that I always
feel the same way. I too have been
diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and
like you, I feel this is not the case. I
have the constant thought that I am dying
and I have visited a doctor several times
and they tell me that I am fine. I don't
understand this either. It has affected my
every day way of living. If you have found
something that helps, please let me know.
Thank you...

What Symptoms? Posted: 10-19-07 19:00pm
Sherrweav, what are your symptoms? You
said you have been to the doctor several
times. I am curious if they are similar to
mine.

When was the last time you had a real good
physical and lab work-up? Are you on any
other medications besides your anxiety
medication? My first question is the most
important. When was the last time you saw
your GP for a good work-up? I think you
need that to set your mind at ease that
there is nothing wrong with you and it
could be all just in your mind. You mind
and way of thinking can make you very sick
if you let it.

the chest with pain. I also feel very
lightheaded like I'm going to faint. I
worry 24/7 that I am fixing to die.

I the worry is half the problem if not all
of it. Try not to worry. Your doctor does
not seem to be worried and I think you are
stressing out over this to the point where
you are making it worse. I know what I am
going to say is easier said then done but,
try not to dwell on it. Re-direct your
mind by doing things like a relaxing bath
or meditation with soft music. Sounds like
you need some calming effects in you
life.
Have you seen a doctor since your throat
problem? If not and that is something new,
then I would suggest looking into that,
even if it is just to ease your mind.

Nothing will scare you more then reading
up on things that seem to fit what you
have. Gee, then all of a sudden you have
it. One of the worse things you can do is
use a medical encyclopidia for a self
diagnosis. All that does to you is create
anxiety and undue stress and even
depression. Go see a proffessional and get
a proper diagnosis before you start to
jump out of your skin for nothing.

I feel the same way... Posted: 01-24-08 22:05pm
I typed in "I feel like I am dying" in the
google search and came up with this site.
I have been suffering from anxiety ever
since I was 18 right after I had a
collapsed lung, I am now 22. I go to work
everyday and it is so hard sometimes I
start to get to where I can not breathe
and It hurts so bad I cry all the time.
The last couple of weeks I have felt so
weird like not myself I am convince I am
dying I have been getting light headed and
it seems like I can over breathe if that
makes any sense. When I start to fall
asleep I wake up in a panic because I quit
breathing. I get in a car and I start to
freak out and just want to get out. I can
not afford insurance so I am unable able
to go to a doctor for meds I feel helpless
sometime. Its not a day that doesn't go by
that I do not feel like this I feel like
no one around me understands the amount of
pain I go through.
Hello all....Here is my story. I wake up
everyday feeling light headed for about 6
months now. I go out and continue to do
normal things but I feel so tired and so
light headed its terrible. I also get
this little drippy feeling on my scalp and
its just real scary. I have had CT, MRI, 3
blood tests seen a neurologist,
neuro-surgeon and they all say ANXIETY,
which is hard for me to believe becaause
when you feel a certain way for so long,
you can become negative. Now it seems
everything I feel in my body is gonna be
my doom. I have been a mess. I had
recently got eye floaters, like a ton of
them and saw a optomologist, i am ok i am
just near sighted and need to wear my
glasses. I like to be reassured im ok and
always seems to help. If anyone ever needs
some advice just ask, ive been through
every anxiey symptom in the book.
I am sure I got some of you beat, but here goes.... Posted: 05-16-08 12:15pm
I suffer from Thanatophobia to the utmost
degree. I am a 37 year old white male,
with a college and grad school education
and a nice job. Been married 11 years,
still think about dying every day. Some
days, almost every hour.
I have been fearful of death since my
grandmother told me we all "die" at around
6 years old. I remember the small, light
clay night light sitting on the table - as
she turned it off. From that moment on a
seed had been planted. It was exacerbated
by life factors in 1997 and catapulted
when my best female friend died of a heart
attack at 31 (2003) with no real
reason....so I began to freak out.
First panic attack was 1997, experienced
severe bouts of chest pain, skipped beats
(PVC's), racing heart, sweats, numb feet
and hards, pain in jaw, pain in left arm,
numbness on face and half of right side of
head at times, high blood pressure,
stabbing chest pain, 2 months of almost no
sleep in late 2006, full/gaseous chest
pain, reflux, stomach bubbles constantly,
severe joint pain, back pain, SEVERE EYE
FLOATERS, spend night and weekends crawled
up in a ball on the couch, and suffer from
scientifically proven BPPV (vertigo) -
which makes each day a nightmare or okay -
depends on how the ear rocks are
located..... yes, Epley has been done, but
little long term help.
I have seen some of the finest doctors
since this time. They have run the
following...I chew aspirin like tums
thinking it will quell my impending heart
attack....seriously....
TESTS: EKG's, Holter Monitor, Creatine
tests, 24 hour blood work, urine tests,
drug tests, ENG, EMG, basic blood work, CT
scans, MRI of brain and neck, (thinking
all of this could have been adrenal /
pheochromacytoma, but it was not) even had
an "accidental" angiogram since
cardiologist thought my renal artery was
failing during a renal doplar (was genetic
dual vessel - benign) - MY ANXIETY WAS AT
PEAK from JAN 2007. Imagine thinking you
are always going to die, then having your
cardiologist recommend next day surgery
with a catheter up your main
aorta....while you watch - you are awake
for the procedure......YEAH, WOW!
MEDS: Zoloft for quite some time, Lexapro
(disasterous stuff for me), Xanax
(withdrawing from .5 mg as I write this,
about 1 month - been on it for years),
Ativan 1 mg (.5 twice per day), Toprol
(PVC's) and tried some others I cannot
remember, but not long.
TAPES/HELP: Charles Linden program for
$115 online is not bad, lots of
information for your money. It helped me
some, but coming off meds is very hard
after many years. BENZO ISLAND is where I
am right now. Self help books clog my
study. LIFE after LIFE is a continuous
read for me. I cannot stop thinking about
dying....and pray it offers me hope.
I do not want to die, let me make that
very clear, I just cannot find ways to get
out of this rut. I am actually terrified
of dying. I do feel that ALL anxiety
disorders are rooted in death anxiety.
Why else would we run to the ER? We fear
we are going to die.
Been married 11 years and drive myself and
my wife crazy with blood pressure
monitoring, constant trips to doctor and
constantly complaining to father and
brother that there is something wrong with
me - when I am "normal."
THERAPY: Been there, paid for that. Half
the time they do not remember your
symptoms and you pay for recalling.....
SELF DIAGNOSIS after 11 years of this:
SEVERE anxiety disorder, with health
related component. OCD on death and after
life.
Any advice you can give would be
appreciated. I know something is wrong
with me - my thinking, but changing this
way of thinking has so far proved elusive.
Sorry for long post, but it has been 11
years in the making.

months ago ive had so much stress.leaving
my wife and kids after 18 yrs. the worst
was wanting to be with someone else so

still am with her now,so i should be
ok?.no.i have constant back ache,muscle
aches particularly stomach.tinittus, eye
floaters,24 hr dizziness,fatigue and
generally flu like symptoms.reading these
posts has definately helped.ive had blood
tests which were fine and know i have
nothing serious wrong with me BUT i dont
this will ever leave me,just got to get
used to it i suppose.so,try not to worry

I understand what your feeling pigglet. I
have been an agoraphobic for 4 yrs. I get
bad anxiety attacks, I also feel like I
want to die. I never want to leave my
house cause Im afraid of fainting or
barfing in front of someone, seriously. I
also was taking meds, but I stopped for 5
mos. Now I think I need to get back on
meds. Do you know of any good suggestions
for anxiety?
