Still In a Panic Possible Blood Contact, Hiv Symptoms?? Posted: 12-07-05 20:50pm
To all:
i am in a panic, I had sex with a female
prostitute about30 days ago, I am married
and have not used condoms in many years.
She put a red condom on me. After we were
done I took off the condom it did not look
like it broke but my shaft was covered
with a red substance that looked like
blood. I have talked to several people
and all said if the condom broke I would
have known. I bought a three pack tried
all 3 (by myself) and each time I put a
small cut on the side of the condom. Only
1 of 3 times did it actually break. The
other 2 stayed as they were but with the
1/4 in cut in them.
I have been showing many hiv symptoms
(started about 8-9 days after the contact
were very strong for about 2 weeks and are
still around.
Physical problems: sore lymph glands in
armpits, groin neck, pain in prostrate,
penis and testicles, daily temprature to
about 99.3 - 100, very sore muscles and
joints, pain shooting from groin down my
legs, now night sweats.
I am in a panic since I got tested for
std's all were clean, also I got an
antibiotic and it is not helping.
There is a new test that tests for the hiv
dna and is supposed to work within 72
hours to 14 days after contact. I took
two of these expensive tests (hiv-dna pcr
test) one at 15 days and one at 24 days
and both were negative. But I am still
having symptoms unlike anything I have
felt before.
Anyone ever have a similar experience?
Anyone know about the reliability of the
pcr test.
Please any info????

So, sex with a red condom. I would
venture a guess that the redness left on
you was from the condom itself. And yes,
you would know if the condom broke.
Shooting pain down your leg, and pain in
your genitals are not to do with hiv
seroconversion. The night sweats are very
likely to be down to your anxiety.
Two pcr tests is pretty much the last
word - you're negative. Though I believe
these expensive pcr tests are marginally
less reliable, having two negative results
is as close as you're going to get.
I think you're ok. Your sex was
protected, you've had two negative pcr
tests. If, for your own peace of mind,
you want to test again after three months
(for total assurance), then that might be
a good idea - but only so you can put it
behind you.
