Getting Pregnant Posted: 12-09-05 01:30am
My husband and I have been trying to get
pregnant the past few months and so far no
luck. Its just weird cuz you hear about
all the people getting pregant right off
the bat and its taking us a forever it
seems. Could there be something wrong or
does it sometimes take a while? And is
there anything I could do to better my
chances?

i know! Doesn't it seem like some people
just think about it and get pregnant?
People who don't even care or want to get
pregnant seem to be the ones who have no
trouble! My husband and I have been
trying for 6 months now. I have read so
much about what increases your chances.
These are the highlights: 1) track you
basal body temperature. Buy a special
bbt thermometer and then there is this
website called fertilityfriend.Com that I
find so helpful for helping figure out
your ovulation day and target when to try
and/or figure out if you have an abnormal
cycle. 2) stay away from lubricants and
using saliva for lubrication. They can
kill and/or block the sperm from getting
where they need to go. There are only 3
lubricants I have found online that sperm
can travel safely through. I haven't
tried any of them yet. 3) lay with a
pillow under your behind for approx 30
minutes after trying (gravity supposedly
helps). 4) I also heard having an orgasm
helps. 5) if your cervical mucus is too
thick, try taking robitussin 5 days prior
to when you get your eggwhite cm. An
ingredient called gualferexin thins out
the mucus and then the sperm can travel
through more easily. Generally, they say
you ovulate the last day you see the
eggwhite cm. Supposedly, it takes most
couples 6 months to have success and 12
months if over a certain age. Hopefully
some of these tricks will help us soon!!
Let me know how it goes!
