Migraines During Pregnancy
Posted: 12-09-05 15:42pm

I have suffered from migraines since the age of 11. Has anyone suffered from them before pregnancy and if you got pregnant did you have them? My doc told me the only thing I could take if I was to get pregnant is tyleno with codeine. Currently I take a stronger medication when I feel the headache coming on.

Thanks - any reply would be appreciated.

I know where your coming from since early on in my life I would get migraines about the same age as you and now being 19 I still get them and I was terrified to think with me being pregnant you dont have many options of medication you can take... But luckily! Im 12 weeks pregnant right now and havent had a migraine since I found out I was pregnant and so I told my Dr. This and she said that actually women who dont normally get migraines and headaches are more susceptible to getting them while they are pregnant and those who regularly get them are actually given a break!

I suffer from migraines and I have prescription for it but I dont take them cause I hate being drowsy, dr okayed me for advil just not to take them on a regular basis, so I pop a pill it was worse during 1st trimester as to where I dont have them now and im 32 wks. I was living under my desk at work cause I wouldnt be able to take the pain and tylenol doesnt do anything for me advil help take the edge off ........

I have to agree with roxie I have been spared two trimesters migraine free and I can eat chocolate or have a pepsi here and there its wonderful to finally have a break. I have been suffering since I was a kid which was when I was first diagnosed.......

Thanks for the responses about migraines and pregnancy. I am 35 yrs old and wondering if I should try to get pregnant. I dont know if I am considered high risk. My husband has 2 boys from a previous marriage, but I do not have any children of my own. We had talked about adoption from guatemala too, the little girls over there are so cute!! Anyone have an opinion for me of what to do. Thank you -this website is great to chat with everyone!!

Migraines & Lower Back Paians
Posted: 01-05-06 19:43pm

Today I have to ssay that I had the worst migrines ever. I took 2 tylenol's but it did not seem to help any. I actuall had to leave work and go home and lay down for about an hour and half. I made sure it was dark in the room, I felt a little better after that, plus I was hungry when I woke up. The lower pain in my back is not making it easier. How much longer??? What does someone recommend to ease the pain of migraines and lower back pains?
