I've been on 100 mg of zoloft for almost 6
years and I have tried getting off of it
thinking I can function without it. Last
time I did this was in june and it was so
incredibly scary the thoughts I would
think. Most were suicidal in nature. I
am married, have two children have my life
time dream job - why would I have these
awful thoughts???
So, my problem is the sexual side effects
of zoloft. I've been married 12 years
and it can take me quite a while to climax
(didn't even realize this until I was off
of the zoloft for a few weeks in june) but
it's something that really bothers me.
Is there anyone here that switched from
zoloft to webutrin and is just as happy
with the results?

Well im no doctor, but I would take a
while to taper off of the zoloft since it
is an ssri. I am not talking over the
weekend. I mean over months. If you
dont you will probably have the same
affects even if you switched to wellbutrin
since you will be going through ssri
withdrawal. If you taper long enough you
go through the withdrawals gradually,
still sucky though. I wont go off my
paxil just cause I am scared to death of
the withdrawals. Klonopin was hell.
Good luck!

actually i've been off zoloft before. It
was awful, I had really a terrible
thoughts, like my children would be fine
with out me - things like that. But I
also remember having no sexual dysfunction
problems. I forgot sex could be like
that. I've been on zoloft for almost 6
years. I spoke to my physician today and
we're going to give it a try. Thanks for
the advice though.
