I am on my 3rd month of taking birth
control pills (orthro-novum). I have been
experiencing bleeding for 7 days now. It
starts in the evening then stops by
morning. I missed a day but took the pill
the next day to make up for it, then 2
days later is when I started bleeding. I
am not sure what is going on and just want
to rule out the possiablity of pregnancy.
I have been under some stress lately and I
am also helping a friend move for a week
now, lifting and painting, so I didn't
know if that would have anything to do
with it. I am technically not suppose to
start my period for another 10 days.

Hi pregnancy is unlikely.. When you miss
a pill your hormones take a nose dive, so
you start to bleed a little. You did an
excellent job with taking to 2 extra
pills, I have done that before and no
pregnancy. You did what you are supposed
to do. You do need to us backup for 7
days, just to be on the safe side though..
Extra safe is better... Like maybe a
spermicidal lubricant.

Thank you for the quick response. The
thing is I started bleeding tuesday and
had unprotected sex on friday when I
stopped bleeding, then the next evening on
saturday I started bleeding as usual and
it has still continued. Does that still
mean that the chance of pregnancy is still
low considering I am still bleeding? I
will be sure to use protection from now
on.

Your risk of pregnancy is low because of
the pill :) and of course, the bleeding
doesn't help make for a good environment.
I won't say it is impossible to get
pregnant while bleeding.. You know
nothing is 100'% but bleeding is common
after a missed pill, it does freak out
your hormones a bit.
