(worried)i Need Advice....... Posted: 12-17-03 20:16pm
I need some advice... This is what
happenend I am on birth control and I
finshed my pack for the month and I was on
the white pills, I am suppose to start
either today or tomorrow and me and my
boyfriend had unprotected sex today and I
don't know if I could get pregnant from
him going in me and me not on the pill
this week? Also just to be sure I don't
get pregnant could I get that 72-hour
contraceptive to stop it if I am?

Ok, when did you run out of birth control?
How long have you been on it? The thing
with birth control is that it stays in
your system for a while and if you have
been taking it for years, it takes many
women well over a year to conceive. Since
you had sex today you can get the ecp and
it would be more effective then if you
waited any longer. It sounds as though
you are not ready to be a parent so using
condoms at all times would probably be
your best bet along with your birth
control! Good luck

I have been taking birth control for five
months. I ran out of birth control
saturday, because that was my last pill
before I started this week. Is the ecp
the 72-hour thing?

Yes ecp is the 72 hr pill. Well the only
kind of advice I would have for you is to
get the pill. I only say that because you
seem like your not ready, your bf isn't
ready and it seems to be the best for you!
Good luck with it!

I strongly suggest the emergency
contraception pill so you can prevent an
unwanted pregnancy. Best of luck!

If I get the ecp tomorrow will it still
work? I'm young so I really don't know
about 72-hour contraceptives.

You don't sound dumb. I don't think you
can buy them, I think you have to get them
from your doctor, planned parenthood, a
clinic or the hospital!

Well there is no way for me to get them
like that b/c then my parents would know
and that is the last thing I want them
knowing, isn't there something that is
over the counter that I can take?

Well sweetie to be honest I don't think
so. I think your going to have to be up
front and honest with your parents and let
them know whats going on. I wish I could
help more, but I just don't see any other
way unless you have a friend that can get
you to a clinic!
