Baby's Head Dropping Posted: 12-13-05 15:59pm
First pregnancy and I am 33 weeks. I
love my "what to expect when you're
expecting" bible! I read last night
about the baby's head getting into
position in the pelvis about 4 weeks
before delivery. I have been feeling an
uncomfortable sensation "down there" this
past week, kind of like a grinding,
twisting feeling. Is this what is
happening? Anyone know?

Could be. In my and my friends
experiences it can be anytime in the last
six weeks when this happens! 1st babies
generally take the longest to 'get into
position' for some reason. While in 2nd
and onward pregnancies the baby is
supposed to drop down earlier. My 1st son
was breech so I diidnt get this problem
and then my 2nd child didnt get into a
proper position untill I was 2hours into
the labour! Good luck to you!

I am 35 weeks pregnant and I have had
those feelings also. I think it is
normal. When I went to my doctor last
month he said the baby was in a head down
position. I would assume that those
feelings are associated with the baby
dropping.

I am 28,7 weeks and my ob said that the
baby does not have the head position yet
and that she has her head on my stomach
(that's why I keep vomiting like crazy).
She also said that it could be a problem
...
Do you think that this diagnose was quite
early?? Will the baby turn upside down
and take her posotion?
I'm quite warried you know...

Here are a few facts
1st time mothers usually drop anytime
after 32 weeks, in subsequent pregnancys
sometimes you dont drop till the last
minute.
Now for someone who is 28 weeks I wouldnt
worry to much usually you have another
ultrasound at 34-37 wks to see the baby as
well as his position and its very possible
that he may not change position in labor
and it will be a c-section, let it go you
still have lots of time. My baby was
breech in all his u/s except for the last
one.
Im 37 weeks and I have dropped been about
a week or two now what does it feel like
(this is my opinion) feels like I have
something between my legs like a gigantic
tampon just something there really
uncomfortable. What I noticed is that I
am hungry all the time now and I dont get
heartburn or its not as bad as the 8th
month.
