I am 5 months pregnant. I just found a new job as an office assistant. I am pinned in doing computer works for about 8 hours. A friend of mine told me that crt (cathode ray tubes) monitors, which I have on my desk, gives much radiation and might give harmful effects to my baby. Is this true? Im frightened. Thanks!

I had heard the same thign but never knew if it was just an old wives tale or what. I asked my doc and he said it was fine to work with them. I worked with flat screens throughout my whole preg and my son is fine.

I never heard of that

I worked with computers through my daughters pregnancy and halfway through this one I also build them and nothing is wrong with elisa and my lil boy to come is 100% healthy talk to your dr about it. I know that if you were working in a hazardous job they would have to move you or give u leave.........

Let us know & take care

Nope.. I don't believe this is true. I worked in a office my entire pregnancy, and my boy was perfect and huge!.. He scored 9 on the 1st apgar, and 10 on the 2nd.

Honestly, I would not worry about it. Ask your doc to ease your mind.

I also do not think setting the laptop on your lap is harmful.
