Using the Withdrawal Method As Birth Control Posted: 12-16-05 00:32am
Hey ladies (and guys),
i need some help here. I am considering
using the withdrawal method for birth
control & would like to know anybody's
experiences with it/problems with it/
opinions of it, etc...
I am not some teenager asking, I am a 27
yr-old married woman who has been married
almost 10 years now.
I just recently went of birth control cuz
of probs w/ hormones.
My sister used this method for 5 years and
never got pregnant.
I also know several other people (married
couples) who use this as their form of
birth control & have never had an
unintended pregnancy.
I know my husband would pull out in plenty
of time (like waaaaaay before it was
time), so there is no worries there.
But my main ? Is: is there live sperm
in the other fluids (like the lubricating
fluids at the very beginning, when he
first gets hard) that could get me
pregnant? I have heard that there is,
but strangely enough nobody seems to get
pregnant from these...?
I want absolutely nooooooooo chances of
getting pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We've already got 2 children, and don't
want any more, but neither one of us wants
to get "fixed" right now.
I'm not sure of any other type of birth
control that I would want to deal with
right now...
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need all the responses I can get
referring to this subject!
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!

My doc told me it's pretty hard to get
pregnant except for a few certain days out
of the month when you're the most fertile.
If you don't know those days then even
if he withdraws it is possible to get
pregnant from what I understand. If you
want to use that method, which I do since
I don't want to deal with taking birth
control and dealing with the side effects
of that, I would use a fertility monitor
so you know the days which you should be
safe. It's not 100%, but should help you
out.

So, do you use this as your only form of
birth control on a regular basis?
Do you use a fertility monitor for
yourself?
Did your dr say if that lubrication stuff
contains sperm that could get you pg?

Somtimes we use condoms along w/ the
pullout method now, but we went for a
couple of years before we were married
being pretty reckless with that, including
not pulling out more than a few times. I
personally don't use a f.M. But my doc
said to if I wanted to be on the safe
side. My doc never said whether or not
that lube stuff can get you pregnant, but
I have read plenty of times that it can.
