I am on my first month of alesse, so I
guess my body isn't quite used to it yet,
and i'm not exactly sure what's normal and
what isn't as far as having my period
while on this pill goes...
Basically, I started spotting about 5 days
or so before I was to begin taking the
green placebo pills (i am on the 28 day
pack). Nothing major, not extremely
bothersome or anything, and I noticed the
spotting would stop a few hours after my
daily dose (taken at supper time). I knew
that spotting was a possible side effect,
so this didn't concern or really bother me
in the least.
When I began taking the green placebo
pills (i now have two left), it seemed as
if my period just didn't want to fully
happen, I guess (usually it is light on
day one, heavy on days 2 and 3, and then
light for another 2 days). Basically,
i've just been having an extremely light,
continuous flow (not much heavier than the
previous spotting) with a lot of cramping
(before the pill, my cramps were not this
bad).
So I guess my questions are, is it normal
to have such an extremely light flow while
on this pill? Because I know that it is
possible to become pregnant, and still
have a light flow, so I am becoming
slightly paranoid about this (although I
took every pill at the same time of the
day, within a half hour time frame, and
never missed one - also used a backup
method for the first seven days of taking
the pill, like it said in the information
pamphlet). Does anyone else have any
experience with alesse??
Thanks for any input...

I have been on alesse for over a year now
and ever since I started this pill my
periods have been a little out of whack.
I suppose its prolly just the pill if your
having the same problems, I wouldn't worry
too much about your period. If your
worried about being pregnant, don't worry
hon, I am freakin out right now about bein
pregnant, but like you, i've never missed
a pill and have always taken them on time,
so I guess if you have any advise for me
about the possible pregnancy thing, that
would be great and I hope my advise was
helpful to you!

Thanks for the reply! As for advice, I
really don't know, I am only on my 2nd
pack of pills. I thought I would wait
until the next round of the green inert
pills and see what happens... If worse
comes to worse I guess i'll just take a
test to ease my mind.

Great :) good to hear.
I think that the worrying is difficult
when you are new to the pill. I feel like
I don't trust it, though statistically I
guess I have like a 1 in 1000 chance of it
failing...
