burning sensation in the lower part of my back
Posted: 12-18-03 18:27pm

My name is paulette williams and I have been having back problems for about a year. My symptoms are as follows:

1 burning sensation in the lower part of my back.

2. Both legs start hurting and seem to become numb.

3. If medicine is not taken promptly my whole body becomes numb and and iam afraid to move a limb. The medicine takes about %uFFFD hour to take effect.

Since april 2003 I have been taking acetaminophen 500 mg tab when problem starts.

At the beginning of the year I was taking bextra 10 mg and ultraset

the problem began with a neck problem that I was told by the doctor& workmen's compensation staff that it is related to the way I was sitting at my computer at work. My desk area was rearranged to be ergonomically correct and the problem seemed to get worse. My doctor did an x-ray and mri and did not find anything at the beginning of the year. I was in physical therapy for at least 8 months at two different times. It helped me very much because at one point for about a month I could not walk one block. The pain was too intense in my neck, back and legs. This is when the doctor put me on bextra 10 mg and later ultraset. Both of these drugs helped me tremendously. However, I am currently under another doctor and she gave me acetaminophen 500 mg for the pain.

I have taken two xrays - 1st of the year and november last month. I also had a mri the beginning of the year that did not show anything.
I am currently scheduled to have a ct scan on november 24, 2003.

I went shopping yesterday and I felt the warmth of my back and knew that I was getting sick. I made it to my mother's house and could not move my body parts which is extremely scary. I sat in my car for 1/2 hour and during this time struggled to blow the horn. She heard it but thought I was on a cell phone. I finally prayed and asked god to help me get out of the car and I did. I took a pill and was soon better.

I met someone that told me that they have a slipped disc in their back. He had the same symptoms as I have as far as the warmth in the lower part of the back and legs hurting. He did not say his body became drained like mine.

Please advise me as to what you think my problem can be based on my symptons. What method of treatment would you recommend. My problem seemed to be less noticeable the past several months and it is now back again. I noticed today that as I bent down several times the feeling of becoming ill was starting to happen again.

Your opinion would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello, unfortunately I dont have those problems, but my husband has had most of them we were involved in a mva he has a couple herniated disks thats whats causing his numbness, burning sensations, pain in both legs, I have pain in legs lower back and many other symptoms, . Having any type of damage to your nerves can cause so many different problems, thing you would not believe could come from nerve damage, hope this helps
