My doctor recently informed me that it
would be recommended to have a c-section
due to the grade 4 tear I suffered during
my first labor. Has anyone opted not to
have a c-section based on this new
information. Can anybody give me
information on their own experience, if
you chose not to do on, or to do one?
Thank you.

C Section And Rectum Tear Posted: 12-18-03 21:04pm
Dear dee,
were you aware of the rectum tear due to
symptoms or did the docter inform you?
Having been thru surgery for a recto
vaginal fistula due to a tear I strongly
recommend you listen to your docter and
have a csection. I had two babies
vaginally and my husband and I plan to
have a third child -- no way will I
deliver vaginally again after my surgery!!
As my docter put it referring to his
intership in brazil "the rich always have
csections while those who cannot afford it
go vaginal". Vaginal deliveries can
cause tears resulting in surgery to
repair. I suggest you research articles
on rectal tears (possibly recto-vaginal
fistula). Not many women are aware of
this or refrain from talking about it
because of embaressment. It is a
horrible experiance. Sincerely, martha

C-section Posted: 12-18-03 22:11pm
I heard from 2 of my friends that when you
have a c-sections they cut you open and
lay your insides on your stomach so they
can get to your uterus
I dont have any children but.... I would
much rather have a vaginal birth before a
c-section the whole taking my inside out
just dosnt sit right with me and I watched
my sister give birth to my nephew that
wasnt so pretty either I guess after
seeing all that mess I appreciate my
mother more

Honey they dont take your insides out and
lay it on your stomach! They simply make
a cut into the lower abdomen (near the
bkini line) and get into the uterus and
make a slice in the amniotic sac and
extract the baby. They have to take the
placenta out but otherwise there are no
stomach, intestines or anything taken out!
Those are might higer then the baby! Go
to a birthing website and watch a
c-section. You will see it's not so bad.
Also you cannot see whats going on because
the put a sheet in front of your head
