When I Exercise I Can't Get My Heart Rate Down For 4-5 Hours
Posted: 12-20-05 00:20am

I have had pretty bad anxiety for just over 3 years now and I understand a lot that is going on now. It's took me quite a bit to get to this point. The thing I don't understand is that lately I have tried to work out a bit nothing too much of course and when I do I can't seen to get my heart rate back down I am talking 100+ beats a minute. It makes it almost impossible to work out. I used to run track and play football now that was about 6 years ago but I would like to think I am not in bad shape. Anyone else have this problem when they work out or do something physical? I mean I understand when you get winded your heart rate goes up but that lasts maybe for 15 minutes or so not 5 hours. I feel like I am having a 5 hour panic attack afterwards.

Ever since I started having anxiety, my workouts haven't been the same either. It's not that it takes long for my heart rate to drop back down. My problem is that my heart seems to pound harder and faster than usual. Also, I get really dizzy half way through my workout. It has ruined my work out. I've had test down, and my heart's fine, so I guess it's just the anxiety. It's very frustrating because fitness is a big part of my life, and I feel it's being taken away from me.

Same here, I use to run track, but now when I run, it takes forever for my heart to slow down and stop pounding, and I feel dizzy and sick like i'm going to pass out the whole time, so you're not alone my friend.
