Missed Periods After Getting Off Yasmin? Posted: 12-20-05 10:13am
I had been on yasmin for about a year. I
just got off it back in july. I had 3
normal periods since then but I havent had
a period since october. I took a home
pregnancy test and it came up negative.
Could someone please tell me what's going
on?

You could have had a false negative test
result. Are you having any pregnancy
symptoms?

Maybe i'm just really paranoid, but I got
a few symptoms. I'm a lot more sleepy and
hungrier than usual and my breast/nipples
seemed to have gotten larger. I'm
wondering how common are false negative
results from a home pregnancy test? I
thought that only happened when you test
too early. I tested 2 weeks after my 1st
missed period.

After stopping birth control, some women
find that their periods are a bit "funny",
or even non existant. Are you trying to
become pregnant? The best thing for you
to do is to buy an "ovulation detection
test", and track your cycles. If you do
not want to become pregnant then you
should definately use a form of
protection. :)

I got off of yasmin after being on bcp for
7 years. Yasmin was the last one that I
had been on for a couple of years I guess.
My first period after getting off was 4
days late with no cramping and it only
lasted about 5 days. That's unusual for
me because I usually have 6-7 day periods
with lots of cramps on the pill. I
thought I could have been pregnant. I'm
waiting to see if this period comes
because I have a few symptoms.

I found out last week that I am pregnant
through a blood test. I had really low
hcg levels, which was why it was not
showing up on the home pregnant tests so I
guess the question has been answered and
it had nothing with to do the yasmin pill.
Although I will never go back on it
again! I had some bad side effects.
