Q: Friend In Need of Prayers

I got a call this morning that my friend who's 6 months pregnant had to be rushed to the hospital because she was passing mucus and blood. After going to her usual hospital, they sent her to a specialty hospital. I just talked to her husband and he said that she could be there for 2-5 weeks. Her water bag was bulging when she got to the hospital. The baby weighs around 2 lbs. And they are trying to keep it in for as long as possible to increase the chances of survival.
Has anyone delivered a baby this small and it survived?
Please pray for her.

Yes I had my baby at 28 weeks 6 months. I was in the hopsital for one month and put on bed rest until the baby would come. I was 2 cm dialted at 5 months. I was able to keep the baby in for about a month. She was born three months early she weighed 2lbs. And 6 oz. Adn was in the hopsital for three months and now she is three years old and doesn't even look like she was born early. If u have any questions I will be happy to answer them the best I can . Good bye and I will pray for ur friend. Bye gina.

Hiya, it is possible for these little babies to do really well even though they are small. Your friend will have some drugs to help strengthen the babies lungs to make sure they are stronger then usual at this stage of the pregnancy. The technology now a days is excellent and the staff on the baby units are very well trained. I have delivered a few premature babies who have survived. Good luck to your friend and tell her there are lots of people thinking about her. Xxx

Update!
I just got a call from her sister. She has to have the baby tonight. She's 6cm. They just gave her the epidural. The doctor thinks the baby will be fine, because the lungs are developed enough. I wish I could be there, but she's 3 hours away. I pray that baby kaydon anthony will be just fine!

Update!
She had the baby 2 1/2 hours ago. Her mom said that he came out kicking and screaming and that he was fiesty. That's great, because it means his lungs are working pretty good. They're both fine, but he'll have to stay there until march (her due date month).
