Diabetes And Unplanned Pregnancy Posted: 12-21-05 15:37pm
I am hoping for some encouragement. I've
had type 1 diabetes for about a year and
i've stuggled with blood glucose control.
Aic was 6.3 in july, but I bounce a lot
291 in am, 81 before lunch . . . That
kind of thing. Just found out I am
unexpectedly pregnant. I have been
blessed by two trouble-free pregnancies
and two wonderful, healthy children. But
everything I read about type 1 and
diabetes says blood-glucose needs to be in
control before conception. I've struggled
more of late. Maybe early prenancy? I am
terrified that this baby will be unhealthy
because his mom was an fool. Has anyone
had a positive outcome in a similar
situation?

Mother nature has helped me a lot during
my pregnancy. I am 44 with heart
disease, hbp and type 2 diabeties with
insluin instead of oral meds. Both my
blood pressure has went down, and my sugar
level went down with the pregnancy. When
I hit about 27-- 28 weeks sugars shot back
up--went back on insulin. I dont know if
you can take the oral meds while
pregnant--you would have to ask a Dr. If
.God has blessed you with a little
one--.His grace will be enough to keep
you.
