Difference Between a Rash And Genital Herpes? Posted: 12-25-05 14:16pm
Hello,
it is the holiday season and I have been
freaking out because I think that I may
have genital herpes. I developed what
seems to be a rash on the head of my
penis, and after closely inspecting it, I
can see miniscule bumps in the area of the
rash.
I have had symptoms of genital herpes in
the form of itching, and tingling.. But
it has been about 5 days and the rash
seems to be fading already. There were
never any "sores" or "blisters" and
nothing has been "leaking fluid" - and
like I said before the bumps are smaller
than even the head of a pin. I am
un-circumsized and the rash seems
contained within the head of the penis and
the inner foreskin.
I have been having un-protected sex with a
girl for the past month or so, and
symptoms did not develop until only
recently. According to research it seems
that it takes 2-20 days to develop
symptoms. Could this rash be attributed
to having sex too much? Has anyone else
experienced any rashes or anything that
scared them into thinking they had an
std?
I do plan on going to the doctor to get
blood tests done, ect. But it is the
holiday season and I doubt I will get an
appointment until january or later. Any
words of advice or shared experiences
would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes, definately get it looked at. Planned
parenthood, I know it usually is for
girls, but they see men at some locations
too. It may be easier to get an appt
there, and it may happen more quickly too.
