Meds For Depression, Which Ones Help! Posted: 08-08-03 04:29am
Hi,
how is everybody doing? I'm just
going to get right to the subject. I have
been really depressed lately. I was just
diaganosed with diabetes about 4 months
agp, and I know that is part of the reason
why i'm depressed, but on the other hand.
I was depressed before I even found out
that I had diabetes. I wish that I could
find a miracle drug for depression. But I
have to be realistic. I know there's not
one like that. But i'm sure somebody
could tell me something. I am on lexapro
right now and it helped for awhile, but
just like with other meds I get immuned
after about 6 months. I've tried zoloft,
which helped, like I said for awhile. If
somebody could give me some information I
would appreciate it so much. Life is too
short to feel like this. I have a
wonderful family. Been happily married
for 28 years. We have two beautiful kids.
Larry is 26 and my daughter shawna is 23.
They live on their own now. My son has
been married for almost a year. They are
good kids. I still am lucky enough to
have my parents. So what in the hell is
wrong with me. My husband kevin has in
his own business, plumbing &
electrial. He's been in business for
about 27 years. He makes real good money.
So thats not really a problem. My
health is not good. I've had alot of
different surgeries. I had a hysterectomy
when I was 24. Because of extensive
bleeding on my periods. So, I don't know
if that has something to do with it or
not. If somebody could help, I would
appreciate even just advice. Thank you
for taking the time to listen to me. Have
a good day.

Hey
hey .. I was diagnosed with ocd which is
a form of anxiety also tied in with
depression. I am taking celexa and it has
helped me a great deal.. Maybe that could
be an option for you

I was diagnosed with ocd as well. I don't
take the medication though because I don't
like how meds make me feel. You might
want to try zyprexa. It a mood
stabilizer.

To be honest no one can tell you which
meds will work for you. Everyone is
totally different and usually it's by
basis of trial and error. I have taken
celexa, effexor, trazadone, risperdal. So
far zoloft is the one that works for me
out of all I have tried. I suggest trying
a few different kinds and figuring out
which one works best for you. Good luck.

Hey! I was on lexapro for a while but it
just didnt do anything for me, from what I
understand it is still relatively new and
I think my phsyciatrist said it was
developed for teens? Im not sure. I
might have imagined that. Lol. But in
the hospital, they diagnosed me with
severe depression, and mild ocd, and they
put me on effexor for anti-depressants and
risperdal as a mood stabilizer. They
worked great for me. The risperdal made
me evry tired though so I had to take it
at night. Now, since i'm pregnant, I am
not on any meds, and I have to say, its
the happiest ive been in a long time.
Its a natural high for me. Lol. Not to
say u should get pragnant, but maybe find
something that truly makes you happy. I
think it works better than any medication
they could ever develop.
Oh by the way I am on 350mg of zoloft...I
dunno if thats relevant! Lol

Welbutrin... Posted: 11-25-03 01:18am
Welbutrin was good for me. But like
someone said, everyone is different as
will everyone's body react differently to
a certain medication. Welbutrin xl is out
and it might work better without the side
affects of zoloft. I really hope this
helped!! Please do not stress about the
diabeties...I know a million people who
have it. They say its hard, but the
hardest part is the diet change!! They
were all actually impressed by the amount
of weight they lost all by just changing
their diets!! Stay healthy and you should
have nothing to worry about!!
I really hope that you find something that
can help you. Also, I wanted to tell you
about hypnosis. I have been through it
and it really helps. Have it be for
anxiety, anger management, or depression.
I hope that everything works out for
you!!
Love always,
sarah!

some problems and relaxes you. Ohhh
