Cocoa Butter And Stretch Marks
Posted: 12-28-05 13:18pm

Everybody has been telling me to get cocoa butter because I am starting to get stretch marks on my legs and thighs (not my tummy tho and I am 5 and a half months..) so I was out shopping for all the boxing day sales and seen a really cheap gift set with cocoa butter in it, a huge thing. And some body lotion...But when I was there they had pineapple butter, mago.. All diff kinds.. Would they all work just the same??? And also I have this other stuff its shea butter vitamin e and aloe.. Is that better to use???

When I was pregnant and started to get stretch marks everybody told me too to do the cocoa butter, aloe and vitamin c. Honestly I tried all and I got stretchmarks like crazy. I think that I got it because I gained weight so fast. Maybe using these things will help or minumize it. My motheralso put vasiline on her stomach every night and never got stretch marks and she was huge! I say it wont hurt to try these things.

My grandmother says cocoa butter doesn't work. I also read somewhere that it may help minimize the appearance but it won't prevent stretchmarks. My grandmother swears by something called mother's friend which is some sort of oil lotion that I haven't been able to find anywhere (if anyone knows if they still sell this let me know). My doctor says as long as you keep your skin very well hydrated then you shouldn't get many stretch marks (i don't know if I believe that).

If you're going to get them you'll get them nothing will prevent them but it may help make them less noticeable! They say to keep your skin hydrated and moisturised so that it keeps it's natural elastin and therefore will stretch more with less marks... Hopefully!!!! :d

I used palmers cocoa butter..... I love the smell and I think it helped a lot! When you find out that you're pregnant, you should start using it then. Don't wait until your body has already started to expand, to start.

Stretch marks--child

there is no comparison. Once you hold that beautiful baby of yours, the thought of stretch marks won't even enter your mind :)

As soon as I found out I starting using the one that has shea butter, aloe and vitam e in it.. But then I seen cocoa butter on sale and grabbed that. I have tonns of different body lotions that match my shower gel lol so I usually use that after every shower.. I hope it will help a little bit at least! Lol..I dont understand why the stretch marks are on my thighs and butt and sides! And not my stomach.. There not very bad.. Just starting to appear a little..I know I shouldnt be worried, I dont care all that much.. I gues its just cuz im only 17, I dont want boobs down to my knees and stretch marks after I have the baby lol...Sorry if that sounds conceited or selfish lol I just miss my old clothes and stuff..

Breastfeeding is ones personal choice........ Don't let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn't do! Just inform yourself, and make your decision from there.

they may be on your stomach, but you may not notice them. If you do have them, you'll see them very clear once you have your baby!

god I hope that doesn't happen to me.. I don't see any on my stomach yet and i'm 5 months and pretty big already.. I do have a little on my thighs and butt also, but not to visible. Although I wont mind if I do end up getting them on my tummy because it is for a good cause, but it would suck because i'm so happy I haven't got them yet and then once I give birth they all appear ahhhhhhh... I'm sure that wont be what i'm worried about when the time comes though.

My sister used this stuff and the only place she ever found it was online. Worked really well. I have some but don't have a belly to use it on yet. Will try it when I am farther along though. Just thought I might help out whoever it was that was talking about it :d

once you start to get stretch marks it doesn't really provent them (it may help a bit from getting anymore) but it doesn't really do to much to the ones you have, I think it's supposed to help make the redness of them go away. I know vitamin e is really good, and my mom told me to get the vitamin e capsuls and break them open and use the oil from them. But I haven't done that yet, I am using palmer's coco butter, and i've gained weight really fast since I was about 2-3 months pregnant, and so far palmers has been really good, I have no stretch marks. So I swear by that. I am not sure is shea butter does the same thing, but you could always ask one of the ladies behind the desk if you are unsure. Good luck

My gf and I have been using palmers for the past 2 months every night and so far and from what I can tell its been working. Not only that though, but I think its a very good way for the fathers to show that they are in this pregnancy with the mother as well. And maybe its just me, but I also just love to be able to touch her tummy, it's just so beautiful and joyous to know that something we've created together is growing inside there

I think stretch marks are inheriteed. I got them on my lower stomach and I only made it to five months of pregnancy. Doesnt seem fair. But then again I am not a skinny lil thing either so I guess my skin was a little stretched to begin with. But I used cocobutter everyday and I still got em. I didnt have any before that.
