Health And Dental Discount Plans (ppo)....

We hear the word "scams" and "waste of time" all the time... And precisely in this situation about health and dental discount plans. Many of them, perhaps, are a bunch of wise scammers who are desperately trying to run a huge number of customers with a big promise of discount and with a plan to shut down when they've made enough money and when the word "scam" reaches their department. So i'm somewhat aware of the ongoings in many of these so-called discount plans companies.

So my questions is: are there actually any legit and fairly reasonable ppo (health discount) companies? (and that have good reputation:)) has anyone out there with a legal background possibly already looked into this matter and has some advisable info?

To the best of all of us!

This website I found has a complete listing of ppo's across the country from legitimate companies and health plans. The site is www.Healthdecisions.Org, and it has a few features that could help your search.

I don't know a whole lot about ppo networks, I am currently on an hmo that is okay, but seems to meet my needs.

Hope that helps!

Don't know where you get this impression of ppo plans. Ppo plans are very legitimate and are sort of a cross between hmo and fee-for-service plans. They differ from hmos in that ppos will usually pay for care provided by a provider that is out-of-network, however, they usually pay at a lower percentage than they would for their in-network providers. That's the main difference. Hmos usually offer no out-of-network coverage.
Btw, most ppos that I know of are with established health insurance companies like blue cross and prudential.

Hope this helps.
