I know how u feel ... I had the worst heartburn when I was pregnant. I couldnt hardly sleep. The thing that worked best for me was peppermint. Either sucking on the mints or chewing gum or whatever, but it really worked for me.

Hope that helps let me know though ...

I used to get heartburn sooo bad, and as soon as I would get it I would go and drink a large glass of milk and it would go away. You could try that.

Tums are safe. They even include "pregnant ladies" on the back of there label. All it is is a calcium supplement...So actually it is really good to take a couple a day weather you have heartburn or not...Especially if you are not a dairy fan (such as myself) and need to get calcium from some where.

Anna

here is what you can and cannot take for heartburn since I have suffered and had nights it was so bad I would just be sick and live in the bathroom..

Maalox & gaviscon for severe
for mild and moderate take tums & rolaids

pepto bismal is a big no no because it contains asa aka aspirin which can cause reyes syndrome in children

i took maalox and it actually helped for a few days and the I will get the odd bout now maybe once a week instead of everyday but it coats ur stomach and esophogas it feels so good~~! Dr & ob gyn said these were okay I think gaviscon is under dr supervision but ask the pharmacist btw gaviscon and maalox arent cheap here anyways about 11$ for medium sized bottle......

Good luck~!
