Hey my girlfriend and I just found out she was pregnant a week ago today. She is 6 weeks tommarow. Im so excited about the pregnancy. But anyways im 17 years old ( she is 16 ) and we have been dating for almost 3years:) !!!! I am wondering how people have gotten threw having a child while finishing high school. And how people have told there parents. We are pretty sure we are keeping it.... But we are really thinking about the future. Im so excited to be a father ( hopefully ).

If anyone has any advice on telling your parents and also how people have gone threw school with a child.

Thanks!

Hey I saw ur reply on my reply to the other post ... So thanks very much. And ill post this in the other one too shes home safe and sound and loving every second with her grandson. Ok so u read how to deal with th parents issue ... Do it how ever u feel comfortable just be mature and handle it well so they understand u can do ok being a parent. I was in the middle of my junior yr when I found out I was pregnant and so I went to a new school that had internet tests all I had to do was go in and take my finals it was really awesome I emailed all my assignments in except a few projects and it helped out alot. I wasnt able to get off the couch much bc I spent my day throwing up but if ur gf does ok with the morning sickness theres always her being able to work to save up a bit of extra cash for when the babys born. If not its cool too. But the school I went through was awesome. Im not sure of the options available in ur area but u should look into virtual and virtual charter schools. Let us know how it goes cuz im still curious and u can email me or whatever if u guys ever wanna talk.

Cangratulations on the new lil one!!!! Thay are amazing

Some places have special schools where you can take your baby with you. Not sure how it would work though, if everyone's baby is crying in the class, how do you get work done?

haha I go to one of those schools. They have a infant and toddler daycare centre...So you don't actually have the baby in your classes with you (although sometimes teachers will let you bring them in, and they have a special class for parenting and your baby comes to that) and if you are breastfeeding or your baby is really fussy they call you out of class. It's a very cool school. I recomend them to anyone who has one in there area. In my school its also availiable for pregnant girls aswell (i am almost 31 wks).

I was 17 when I found out I was pregnant, and I was really scared to tell my mom. So I told her through a letter. She wishes I had told her to her face, lol but I am glad I did it that way. I poured my hear out into a letter and then left it on her bed for when she came home, and then waited for her to read it. Lol I found it gave her a few minutes to decide how to handle it without just freaking out...Which maybe she wouldn't have done. Everyone is different. She handled it really good.

Anyways good luck and keep us informed. Pm me is you want to talk.
