Opps sorry....I cut and pasted it instead
for you.....
Packing for the hospital
here are some suggestions of items to pack
for yourself, your coach and your baby.
It’s a good idea to pack several weeks
before your due date, in case you go into
labor early.
For you
bras (2)
nightgown (nursing)
robe and slippers
socks (several pairs)
toiletries
hair dryer
calling card for phone/change for pay
phone
going home clothes (in a size that fit
during your sixth month of pregnancy)
for your baby
baby clothes
hat
receiving blanket
warm over-clothes (depending on the
weather)
car seat
for your labor and delivery bag
tapes of favorite music
contact lens case and eyeglasses
breathing sheet and coach’s guide
two or more pillows with bright colored
cases
two colored washcloths
lip balm
mouthwash and toothbrush, toothpaste
pair of socks
snacks and beverages for coach
focal point
powder and/or lotion for massage
barrettes and hair wrap
tennis balls in a sock
camera and extra film, video recorder
change for pay phone and vending machines
magazine, games
paper and pencil
list of phone numbers of people to notify
of birth

Tennis balls in a sock huh?
You also need diapers and baby first milk
powder + bottles if you can't or dont want
to breastfeed. Sterilise them before you
go?

It depends on your hosp. Some give you
everything you need while there and all
you need is the going home outfit and
carseat. Others give you nothing so,
maybe call the hosp and ask them.

Has anyone tried tennis balls in a sock
for massage? I know that it is off of
the subject but I would like to know if
this works....
If you bring more than 10 things all
you'll be doing is over packing.
Get a comfortable pair of clothes to come
home in, I have pajama pants and a t shirt
in my bag, hair scrunchie, lip balm and
hard candy to keep your mouth moist (they
wont let you drink water or eat) you can
have ice chips though. A few pairs of
underwear and a camera.
You dont need pads because the hospital
will give you tons...Same goes with
diapers and etc.
Like I said, don't overpack half of the
things in your bag you wont even use.

I found that when I was there I over
packed. I brought way too much stuff.
I thought I would want to look all sexy
and stuff, I brought all my makeup,
curling iron..Creams., etc. Boy was I
ever mistaken!. I even brought
prepreganncy clothes to wear. Yeah
right!- wake up call!
I found I wore track pants or sweatpants,
and t shirts. I should of just brought
lots of those. And bring lots of
underwear....You'll probably have to throw
some out! The first day I delivered I
had to wear 3 pads at once. And still
leaked...Grose I know.
I had my baby in april, it was still
pretty chilly- snowstorm the day I
delivered, but I brought a pair of flip
flops to wear in my hospital room, I
actually found them more comfy than
slippers.
My hospital supplied diapers, formaula,
pads, even toothbrush, and toothpaste.
And any unused stuff left in your room
when you get to leave- take it with you,
because they just throw it out anyways

Oh yeah... I found that sports bras were
better for me. They kind of have one
size fits all. Your boobs are gonna
blow up, and your regular bra isn't gonna
fit long. You'll have to wear it to bed
once your milk comes in with breast pads
and a sports bra is so much more comfy.
So packs sports bras!!

Or nursing bras if you plan to breastfeed.

I actually did breastfeed and never used a
nursing bra at all. I still used the
sports bra. I would just pull one boob
out from the top, and let him go to it.
More convienent for me, but I guess it all
depend on the person!
