Okay. I am scared because, I am addicted to caffiene, not kidding. The doctor has limited me because I drank so much it had eaten the first layer of my stomach out (eye popping amazment, I know) recently, I have been having even more and more and more..And I am pregnant, and im scared it will effect the baby big time, it has been having about 2-3 sodas a day..And im just so scared it will do something. What should I do? I know this isnt good health for this baby..

I myself was addicted to caffeine....But the moment I found out I was pregnant I stopped. It was hard but I did it...Side effects it can have for your baby is you can miscarry (thats the only one I know of). Im not sure but I think sprite and barq's root beer have no caffeine in them...But I heard you should drink absolutely no soda at all. So you just have to try...For you babys sake anyways.

Get decaffeinated soda. I had maybe 1 a day while pregnant. This is some info I found. http://sun.Science.Wayne.Edu/~bio340/stu dentpages/bzovi/main.Html

not to pry but they say people who have alcoholics in their family have a harder time cutting down on caffeine too.

Yea but your 2litre pops are smaller than ours :p

its not jsut caffine tho its the sugar and otehr things in pop.

U should cut down tho as there tons and tons of caffine in pop. 3times coffee and tea . Cant rememebr what the programme said now but I know there loads of caffine in pops.

I drink decaffinated anyway and drink loads of flavoured water but I not preg now.

If u can get off it the better. Your baby will be so hyper when it pops out also and be addicted to caffine.

It is said that the caffeine can make your's and the baby's heart race. When you are pregnant your blood volume increases as much as 30%, and this makes your heart have to work harder. With the already increased work load on your heart, and the rest of your system, caffeine only adds to it.

I, myself, am an avid mt. Dew drinker. When I got pregnant I limited myself to no more than 20 oz. A day. I usually have this first thing in the morning to help keep me going. I tried cutting it out ocmpletely, but I got horrible headaches.

I had the same concern as you. My doctor told me that 2 a days is safe. Hope that helps....
