Pregnancy Q&A Question
Posted: 01-05-06 15:24pm

i have been using codeine on and off constantly for the past 18 months, this has been for the cervix pain but mostly for migraines and dental pain. the most i have taken in a day would be 200mg and the least is 50mg. i am wondering if this would be having an effect on me not being able to fall pregnant because my fertility has been lowered?
thanks in advance for reply

There is no evidence (experimental or clinical) that codeine has a negative impact on the fetus or on a woman's ability to become pregnant. In your case, sterility might be caused by endometritis (a pre-existing condition). If there is an infection in the uterus, it must be treated! Your gynecologist can help you!
