Husband Treats Me Bad
Posted: 01-06-06 17:35pm

I am living with a man who used to hit me a lot and he stopped since few months because he was about to get into trouble for doing that. But he never stopped calling me names. I am from india, I have been married to this man since 3 and half years. He is very polite with others in public. Some of my friends cannot believe that he could be like this to me. I have a child and he started to witness what dad does to me. I am confused, should I stay in this relationship? My husband says, he knows what he is doing to me and says that he will chnge but it will take time. Please, help.

I do not know your whole situation...But make sure this man knows that you are prepared to leave him if nothing changes not just for you...But for the sake of your child. Do not let him take advantage of the fact you are not a native to the country. Men can be very manipulative...If things got really bad is there anywhere you could go or are you dependent on him ??

Some men do not change....Others need space and time...If that means you have to separate for a while so he can do that then thing how that could improve things in the long term

...You sound just like me. Take advice that others gave to me on this website, leave!!! He won't change, and you can't change him.

Read "bipolar is tearin' us apart" in the bipolar forum...You'll find my story there.

He(your husband) too may be bipolar.

My mom went through something similar...Her ex-husband beat her and then said he was sorry and they had 4 kids together so it was really hard for her but no matter what violence is not okay.If hes hurting you then you need to get out of the situation.I mean unless he has a mental disorder and you need to get him some help for that then you need to leave because what happens when he gets mad at your child and raises his hand to your kid.Are you going to say it was okay because daddy was mad or because you know daddy is sorry? If you do that then your child won't be close to you because you are making excuses for your husband.
