Being Overshadowed...again Posted: 01-07-06 22:01pm
Ok here is the problem.
All my life I have been overshadowed by
people. I was a good student in high
school, but I was no virginia (my sister).
I was a good quarterback, but I was no
bob (my brother). This followed me all
the way to college at virginia tech. My
freshman year, I was a cadet. I was a
good one, but no guy (my father). My
sophomore year I walked on to the football
team. Of course, this was the michael
vick era, so I never played. However,
after he left, I started most of my senior
year. I was good, but no michael. I
know it isn't much to say that I was
overshadowed by michael vick because just
about everyone who plays quarterback.
However, now I am being overshadowed in my
dating life. The girl that I am dating
keep saying that I am a good guy. She
says that the guy she used to date always
did........(fill in the blank with a nice
thing). I am tired of being overshadowed
by everyone and cannot find anything that
is my own. What can I do to get her to
stop thinking of me as second best?

Quit telling yourself you're no "fill in
name here". That's not good. Build up
your self esteem. If you have to, do
some soul searching to find out who you are. You'll be
much happier.
As with the girl, tell her how you feel.
If she still continues to do the stuff,
get rid of her. Sounds to me she's not
over her ex.. Which could lead to major
relationship issues down the road, more
than it's causing now.
