I'm not trying to get pregnant - in fact
i'm on the pill- but I think i've had a
miscarriage. My story is complicated and
convoluted so i'll start at the beginning.
For whatever reason, I was getting bad
about taking my pill on time about a month
& a half ago. Still didn't think I
was pregnant. Then three weeks ago I went
on vacation in asia. I wanted to skip my
period while on vacation so I continued to
take my pills through the week of what
should have been my period. The next week
(still taking the pill) I was experiencing
bleeding, but thought it was just a side
effect of skipping my period. Then I
passed pieces of tissue that, now that
i've read up on the topic, I think was a
miscarriage. Now it's about a week later
and yesterday I experienced a strange
odorless discharge that I think may have
been the expulsion of the fluid
surrounding the fetus. I also had an
unexpected bout of nausea.
So, that's my story. It's unfortunate
that I decided to skip my period right
around the time of pregnancy/miscarriage
because it's really confused things.
Could this have caused the miscarriage? I
was also on malarone to prevent malaria
while I was in asia- could this have
caused it? I'm going to take a pregnancy
test later today and planning on finding a
doctor to go to this week. For now i'm
really confused. Thanks.

Are you sure you were pregnant, could it
be what you originally thought, a result
from skipping your period so you got a
strange one after? If I were you i'd go
see the doctor.

Well, I tell ya, I did what you did too
and continued taking my pill thru what
shud have been the start of my period
becuz I didn't want to have my period for
xmas.
Yet, I started spotting and passing tissue
like stuff and I know that I ain't
pregnant.
So maybe it was that whole taking the pill
for so long that just sorta messed with
our bodies somehow.
Suffice to say I don't think that I will
be doing that again. Although I suppose
just to put your mind at ease it wudn't
hurt to ask your doc a question.
I am seeing mine on saturday and I plan to
ask him why that happened.
