Constant Water Infections

Somebody please help!!

Im 21 and have constant urine infections, around 1 a month. They usually start during the night which then involves being awake the whole night with the painful feeling of bursting for a wee! And a painful pain in my bladder. It's unbearable!

I work full time and find it hard to get to the doctors all the time, which has unfortunately led to a couple of horrible kidney infections once being taken to hospital (my own fault for not gong to the doctors, I know).

They are really starting to get me down. And im sick of constantly taking anti-biotics.

I would be really grateful for some advise!
Look forward to hearing from you!

Definately see a doctor, always make time to see a doctor when it comes to your health, you should drink lots of water, and fruit juices, to help flush out your system, I take acidopholous, every day, its the main ingredient in yogurt, its suppose to fight the bacteria, you can purchase it at any store that sells vitamins, the best type to take is the live acidopholous, which can be purchased at any herb shop, its really healthy to take, exspecially for woman, who are taking antibiotics, it really might help you not get as many uti. You can also try taking cranberry pills, hope this helps, good luck

The best choice is antibiotics therapy. When your uti(urinary tract infection) is prolonged, there could be morphological change in your urinary tract and kidney could be infected if bacteria reach your kidney.

If you can not see a doctor, drink water as much as you can to wash out your urinary tract. Urinary outflow is known to be one of the defense mechanism.

Void right after you have a sexual intercourse and do not take the posture that seems to cause symptoms.

The effectiveness of cranberry juice is not clearly determined yet. I copied a comment. Have a read please.

==================

are cranberry pills or capsules helpful in preventing urinary infections?
There is little research with humans to support the idea that cranberry pills and/or capsules are effective in preventing urinary tract infections. Most of the research used cranberry juice.

There is research in progress now involving humans taking cranberry tablets to prevent urinary infections.

Are cranberry tablets and capsules safe to take?

Some studies state a concern that cranberry tablets and cranberry juice (drinking a quart or more of juice daily) increasing calcium oxalate and uric acid stones of the kidney.

A person should consider his/her personal risk for kidney stones and talk to his/her health care provider before taking cranberry tablets as a ietary preventative for urinary infections. One should also talk to his/her health care provider if taking medication for inflammation of the stomach and/or taking vitamin b-12 as cranberry tablets or capsules may increase the absorption of vitamin b-12.

Hi kirsty, acidopholous can be bought at walmart, k mart, etc, anywhere they sell herbs, if you cant find them eating a yogurt a day is the same thing, or if there is a herb shop around you they sell the live acidopholous, its refrigerated, its the same ingredient thats in yogurt and it is very healthy for woman to take, I have taken it for years exspecially when im sick and half to take antibiotics, im not saying to take cranberry pills, to treat any urinary tract infections, but by taking them will help prevent them. Im sure you know that when you get utis you need to see a doctor of course you need to take antibiotics, drink lots of water to flush out your system, if you still cant find the acidopholous let me know. Good luck

Hi,
i suffer from the exact thing. It seems to be once a month. I was even considering getting my doctor to write me a repeat prescription coz I have to go on antibiotics so often.
It is soooo painfull. I hate pure cranberry juice, but have found that this does make a difference. I really do think that you should go to see your doctor though. I went to mine yesterday, and he reffered me straight to see a urinologist (not sure if thats how you spell it) they gave me a water test, which I am waiting anxiously for the results, and I also had to put my name down to have an ulstra sounds scan done, and would you beleive it, it's a 14 week waiting list! I'ts a joke, so I am seriously thinking about going private, because I am really scared that something is seriously wrong with me, in 14 weeks time, it will just be even worse. Do go to your doctor though, and make them refer you to see a specialist!
