Read..for All of You Who Have Been Told to Have Surgery

Hi, I can't stress how important it is to do your research before being admitted to the hospital. Thank god I did not go through w/ my surgery! I am completely fine now and I was having some major problems two months ago. Just go alternatively into this...I have been doing a lot to avoid surgery. Just read this first..It is written by a doctor

dr. Mercola's comment:

i addressed this issue in a previous posting several years ago, but thought it was worth reposting as so many people have unnecessary surgery to have their gallbladder removed. In my experience, more than half the time the gallbladder is taken out, the patient's pain that prompted the surgery still remains.

This is because the surgeon never fixed the problem. They only treated the symptom. This makes about as much sense as putting a piece of tape over the fool light that would come on in your dashboard if your engine oil pressure is low. This would clearly solve the problem, the light would not bother you anymore, but you would be looking at expensive engine repairs if you failed to treat the cause of the light being on.

If you have abdominal pain that is immediately below your last rib on your right side and lined up with your right nipple, especially if your press down in that spot, there is a good chance that you have a gallbladder problem.

The first step is to immediately follow the eating plan. Regular exercise has been consistently associated with a decrease in gallbladder problems.

If the pain persists the article above provides a far simpler less expensive option prior to surgery.

I believe it is nearly criminal what traditional medicine is doing to the public when it comes to managing this problem. It is rarely ever necessary to remove someone's gallbladder. If one ignores warning symptoms and does not address the reasons why their gallbladder is not functioning properly, than the disease can progress to the point where the pancreas is inflamed or the gallbladder is seriously infected and may have to be removed to save a person's life.

However, it is important to have a proper perspective here. Nearly one million gallbladders are removed every year in this country and it is my estimate that only several thousand need to come out.

So, not only are surgeons removing these organs unnecessarily, but also in their nutritional ignorance they are telling patients that their gallbladders do not serve any purpose and they can live perfectly well without them.

This is a lie.

The gallbladder serves an important digestive function. It is required to emulsify fats. What is emulsification? One can easily understand this concept when washing greasy dishes. It is nearly impossible to properly clean greasy dishes without soap as the soap emulsifies the fat so it can be removed.

Similarly, the gallbladder stores bile and bile acids, which emulsify the fat one eats so it can be properly transported through the intestine into the blood stream.

Anyone who has had their gallbladder removed will need to take some form of bile salts with every meal for the rest of their life (i use and recommend beta plus from biotics research), if they wish to prevent a good percentage of the good fats they eat from being flushed down the toilet.

If one does not have enough fats in the diet, their entire physiology will be disrupted, especially the ability to make hormones and prostaglandins.

I wonder who is the fool who came up with that idea from the first place ? God didn't make the gall bladder for nothing!?

I have gall bladder problems, and I believe olive oil is the true healer

Hi, this is interesting considering that I have had two foctors say that my gallbladder needs to come out. I have been terrified at surgery and started talking to a local herbalist. I knoiw of two close friends that have had theirs out and still have issues. In fact, one of them is yellow in color and can't get the yellow look out of her skin. The dcotor says it is her bile secrection levels! Anwyay, all too scary and I am starting to read about flushes too ( although these scare me too) lol

We dont even use our gall bladder any more. The gall bladder does not even store bile any more. 100s of years ago when people only use to eat 3 or 4 times a week yes the gall bladder did store bile. But these days our gall bladder is useless. You dont need it. 2 surgerns told me this. I had my gb out about 5 months ago I am 100% fine not a problem in the world.

No amount of olive oil was going to remove inflammation from my gallbladder or the & adhesion's from having long standing inflammation from a diseased gallbladder. I also have always exercised 3/4 days a week for years... This made no difference in my gallbladder disease. Nor have I had to take any bile salts since surgery...Since your liver is the one who make the bile salts/acid to begin with. All the gallbladder does it store excess bile salts.

Since surgery I am healthier & feel better then I have on years...

No need to take olive oil. I had gallbladder surgery & I feel great!

Before surgery any oil/fats made me have excruciating gallbladder attacks. So I asked my dr's about the olive oil flush/cleanse & read up online about it long before I decided on surgery. As my surgeon & general practitioner told me.--- taking pure olive oil is like eating a big fatty meal, so much fat could trigger a sustained severe contraction of the gallbladder. These contractions could result in excruciating right upper quadrant pain and a possible trip to the er. Taking olive oil is especially dangerous if there are stones in the gallbladder. The severe contractions can cause them to be pushed out of the gallbladder & become lodged in the bile ducts & again, a trip to an er & possible emergency surgery.---

also as I did not have stones, just long standing inflammation & adhesion's, the oil would not have helped. This would have only made my gallbladder contract more & would have made the inflammation worse. :(

if your gallbladder is healthy, then then I could see the olive oil flush/cleanse may be good to keep the sludge (that ultimately forms stones) out of your gallbladder. Otherwise it could be dangerous gamble.

I am not sure if the olive oil will work or not but people should always be aware that doctors only believe what they are taught in medical school. Natural or holistic therapies are not taught because the pharmacutical companies can't make money on it. They are the ones that do the research and tell the medical schools. For example, doctors say everyone child should be vaccinated from the moment they are born. They don't tell you that they use mercury, formaldahyde and aluminum as preservatives. These toxins are thought to cause autism, ra, asthma, adhd. But who do you think teaches them about vaccinations in med school....The manufacturers! So, just because a doctor doesn't believe that olive oil will work doesn't necessarily mean it won't.

Re: Update On My Gallbladder
Posted: 01-29-06 09:39am

Hi, I have decided to keep people updated on my own personal gallbladder drama!! Yes, two years ago I never gave this organ a second thought, much less even knew it was there!!!! We live in an age where surgery is the solution for a lot of things, as a result, we end up with either more comlications from the surgery or a failed surgery and the pain wtill remains. The more I read about disease and disorders, the more I have come to the conclusion that it is all about what is put in the mouth!!! I never though pizza could be deadly, but it very well could be. The amount of grease and fat that comes out of that slice is bound to take a toll on my fragile body. And what about that daily soda??? Coke perhaps... The same substance that can totally disolve a nail in a weeks time and a piece of steack iver night!!! This is healthy and is supposed to keep my machine running properly???? Dietary choices and are essential to good health. I believe my gallbladder malfunctioned due to a terribalt fat and overly processed diet that contained absolutely no nutrients or minerals. Over time, it just kept squeezing and squeezing until it could not squeeze no more. Yep... A break down, much like if you keep running your car without putting oil or gas in it. So, start with your diets!!! If you can, put surgery off at least until you have tried everything. This surgery is performed and it is only done so because the patient is ignorant. The surgery does have to be performed at times of emergency, but for the most part, the patient can try alternative methods. I did and certainly found results. I juice everyday now and make sure I include beets and radishes to keep the bile flow thin. I take choline and limit my fat intake. I was told by two surgeons to have my gallbladder removed. Now...Here it is folks, it causes me no pain now and I am fine. So see, I would have had my gb out and could have had worse or the same problems. Just do your research first. You are ultimately the one that goes in the office and says " I want to schedule a time for surgery" not the surgeon!!! You have the say on this no matter what the surgeon says. Not to mention..The 5,000,000 cases of hosptial deaths and maltreatments that go on in the states. Yes!!! Very high figure to grasp!!!
