I have been looking in the forums for a
while and could not decide where to put
this. Due to the circumstances, I decided
to put it here. If you have a different
place to put this thread in a different
place, please feel free to do so, just
tell me where it has been moved too 8)
ok, so since march of 2005, I have been
loosing weight. I have been doing it by
eating less and excersising more, and
obvious choice. Anyway, I have lost 3
stone since then. However, now I get
something I didn't used to get.
Whenever I am jogging, for more than 1
minute, I begin to get a rather big pain
in my stomach muscle area. It's like a
cramp, but it's not a cramp. It hurts
much than a cramp, and it last longer than
one too, plus I have had cramp before, so
I know what it would feel like. Anyway, I
definatly think it is the up and down
movement of the jogging which is doing,
because as soon as I stop, it doesn't
hurt.
In my excercise, I do some sit-ups. Not
hundreds. A few months ago at one point I
was doing like 250 a day for 2 weeks.
Before I did that, I had no pain there,
however, not directly after it, but it is
after it, I get these pains. I do more
like 50 every 2 days now to try and see if
that helps the pain.
So my question is would this feeling be
something muscular, or something else?

I suppose it all depends on where in the
abdomin the pain is. Is it in the upper
abs or lower abs? Have you been doing any
weight training during the time prior to
your cramping? You may have just pulled a
muscle or maybe you gave yourself a
hernia. Abdominal hernia's can be quite
painful but a quick trip to the doc's
could rule that out for you. Good luck
hope you figure it out soon.

Thanks for the reply. I have been doing
less excersicing gradually, and now I can
run the cross country course without any
pain. I feel if I keep it at a lower rate
then it will completely go away.

Pain In Abdomen Posted: 03-22-06 20:49pm
I have had similar pain. I am a marathon
runner, so I have plenty of stamina but at
times (maybe 3x a year) I will jog and get
a cramp in my lower abdomen that cripples
me. It's almost as if I feel this dull
pain deep inside and if I happen to set it
off from running I won't last a 1/4 of a
mile. In addition, it then becomes
painful to walk. After about 10 minutes
the pain tapers off, but the dull, deep
pain still lingers. My obgyn recently
found an adnexal mass which I am having
inspected by ultrasound next week. I
wonder if these could be related????

Sometimes during my tennis warm up I feel
some pain in the lower abs because of the
jogging motion, but it goes away after few
minutes. I guess a good stretch and warm
up is needed.
