Pregnancy Forum - Heavy Bleeding During Pregnancy

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site, and I just want to maybe give everyone a bit of piece of mind. Im currently 8wks 2 days pregnant. On boxing day morning I woke up with some light red spotting. That continued for a few days, I went in for an ultra sound. And she seen a sac which was all she was supposed to see at 6 weeks. She said the bleeding was from blood vessels bursting on the out side of the sac. Other then that everything looked normal. Ok, so that made me feel a lot better. Well the bleed then pretty much stopped and turned to brown. Then on new years eve. After doing some shopping, I went to the bathroom. Only to find heavy dark red blood. Well that scared the crap outta me. By that night the bleeding had stopped. Then new years day at about 2 in the afternoon. Found heavy red blood again. Enough to make me so sick, I spent the night puking. And the entire next day. I thought for sure I had lost the baby. It was set in my mind, that there was no way this baby was still alive. The amount of blood I thought I had, was not normal. In my eyes anyways. So I got in for another ultra sound. (by this time the bleeding had stopped) and the doctor seen a heart beat. I seen the little thing flickering away. That was the biggest relieve ever. Alright so this was on a tuesday the 3rd. Still no bleeding for the next few days. Then last saturday morning, my boy friend and I had very soft sex. I just mean it was hard. Or rough!. And I quickly threw my panties on and ran to the bathroom, to get myself cleaned up. By the time I left my bed and got to the bathroom.. My white underwear were completly red. Soaked with blood. I took them off. And the blood was pouring outta me.. I sat on the toilet, and it just poured. Like nothing I have ever expierienced before. Also I had a huge blood clot come outta me, the size of the palm of my hand. I was so scared I reached in the toilet, pulled it out, (blood everywhere) and brought it up stairs and showed my mom.. She confirmed it was a blood clot. Not tissue. Anyways, that morning I easily had enough blood come outta me to fill 5 to 6 pads, in about 15 minutes. Onces the blood slowed down, I changed my pad for the last time and went to the er. I was immediatly brought in for examination. By this time, the bleeding had pretty much stopped, nothing but light pink blood. The doctor did another ultra sound, with a weak ultra sound maching, and he found a heart beat. He also did a pelvic exam and my cervix was closed. Which was a good thing. But because the ultra sound machine that they had used was very weak. He set me up for another ultrasound with a normal machine, monday morning. When the hospitals regular ultrasound lab was open. The did another ultrasound. And once again, I seen the heart beat. 140 bpm. I should be 8 weeks 2 days, but the ultra sound measured 7 wks 1 day. I was a little up set about that. But the doctor said that could be because my dates are off. Altough I know in my heart that my dates wern't off. Anyways.. Since then if had no bleeding. Other then light brown, guck here and there.. Nothing major. So everyone.. If this baby continues to grow up strong and be healty.. Which I belive it will.. Bleeding during pregnancy does not mean you are going to have a misscarrige. Also I didn't mention this before.. But this time the bleeding was going on, I had no cramps. Whatsoever..
