Best Ab & Upper-body Workout
Posted: 01-12-06 07:08am

Ok my main question is how is the best way to work my abs?

Just so you know, i'm 19, male, slim and have a good figure, but my lower abs aren't as prominant as i'd like them to be.

I've done 100 tend situps/scrunchees before and tend to find them really easy. Is there an exercise that would hurt my abdominal muscles, more like it used to.

I'm willing to buy equiptment as long as it's smallish in size.

Do those electrode pad things work? (as they sound like a scam).

Secondly, is there an exercise or exercise machine I can get for my upper body, i'm not talking biceps/triceps as I do curls with 5kg weights and pushups for them, i'm talking about my upper chest. It looks kinda strange on me as I have a good fit looking body but my upper chest looks unexercised and looks a little strange. I've heard from a friend a bench press is best for that, but is there a smaller machine I can use in my room, as I tend to do all my exercise before going to bed.

Buddy if your serious about this like the american army troops do 500 pushups a day and you'l be incredibly bulky in a month or two and always eat something with good protein in it right after say every 250 pushups and never workout at least an hour after eating. Split up tha 500 pushups to equal amounts. Trust me it works. Do it every day and give yourself a couple days rest a week. Pullups are real good for your upper body too.
Oh and try to do at least 50 each session and if you cant reach up to 50 do your most than work your way up by goin on your knees and givin it what you got to break 50.
Hope this helps

Ive been working out for 4 years, im 14 years old now.. I have bigger chest then most chicks in my class lol.. To work your chest you should do the obvious bench press.. But when it comes it working out your chest you want reps instead of weight amount.. Weight amount will build your shoulders.. Building your chest is all stamina.. Its my favourite muscle to build xd.. Another workout for your chest which is in fact better then the bench press is the dumbbell flyes.. Tips: sit down on a flat bench with a dumbbell in each hand. Then lie back, keeping the dumbbells close to your chest. Lift the dumbbells over your chest by extending your arms. Maintain a slight bend in your elbows. Keep your hips and shoulders flat on the bench and your feet on the floor. Lower the dumbbells to the sides of your body in an arc-like motion. At the lowest point, your bent elbows should be on a horizontal plane even with the bench. Slowly bring the weights back up over your chest in an arc. The bend in your elbows should stay the same throughout the exercise.
