Hypothyroid - Weight Gain Posted: 01-12-06 10:16am
Just curious about what anyone else has
experienced with their thyroid condition -
how much weight gain and how did you deal
with it? My first month and a half out of
the hospital I gained 65 pounds, went back
to work (stable hand - very physical job)
and didn't lose a pound, then 6 months
later suddenly dropped 20 pounds for no
reason. At one point I tried to go on a
diet - cut calories big - time (less than
1,000 calories per day) and ended up
gaining 1 - 1.5 pounds per day. I put up
with it for a week and a half, then
started eating whatever , whenever, and as
much as I felt like and lost the weight I
had gained on the diet. Has anyone else
ever experienced this? Very annoying! Oh
well! Periods are annoying too - it used
to be 29 days every month - now it's
anywhere from 20 - 35 days! Arggg!
