Hi,

my girlfriend's period is running a day or 2 late.. She has run late before but not since august. She says that she is feeling all the typical pms symptoms and that her breasts aren't sore, sensitive, or tender like they would be during pregnancy. We also took 2 pregnacy tests and both read not pregnant but she is still worried and wants her period to start. She has been under alot of stress recently and i'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. The only signs she has are very severe cramps that have progressivly worsening for about the past day or so. I do not know too much about pms or the menstral cycle or pregnancy signs so I was wondering if anybody out there who was more knowledgeable on the subject could reply and try to help me out. If anybody could I would be greatly appreciative.

Thank you,
topher

Hello
When was her last period? And how long ago did she take her preg test sice shes been late? And how late is she? You might want to go to the doctor and get a blood test as well , it will for sure come up if shes pregnant, some people have to have that done to really make sure, it will take a big load off your shoulders. Good luck to you. :)

I would really consider her going to the doctor this could be something serious....Not trying to scare you or anything..And she also doesnt need to stress that can cause her to miss her period also...

Thank you,

Are you using any birth control? Some women cramp when they are pregnant at the beginning when their period is due. Although I have also had that happen to me once (not pregnant) and got my period next day. Good luck to you both.

I wouldn't be too concerned if her period's only a day or two late. If a week passes and she still hasn't gotten her period, re-test. Also, if she's on birth control her period might come a week early or a week late sometimes. You said she's stressed out, so that could be a contributing factor to the late period.

Re:scared And Concerned Boyfriend
Topher,

it's very likely you both have nothing to worry about, but it's always a good idea to use reliable birth control to prevent scares like this. I have been pregnant five times, and i've learned that being late a day or two is usually not too much to worry about, especially when the girl has been under a lot of stress. If I was a week or more late, then I got the test.

Help her relax - and find a method of birth control you both are comfortable with asap.

Good luck.
