Wound Repair Post-Surgery

I just had surgery on my tailbone for a pilonidal cyst, 7 days ago. since its in a hard place, i think it might be infected. what would be the signs of infection & what can I do to help the wound dry, because it hard to get air to that area. the stitches go down between my butt cheaks & i need some info in how to help it heal. thank you

I’m not surprised that you have suffered from a pilonoidal cyst and now have problems with wound recovery after surgical treatment. An infected wound secretes puss and stinks. You can prevent infection and help the wound dry by using a spray containing antibiotic suspension (i.e. bacitracin+neomycin). If the wound is already infected you will need some oral antibiotics beside local treatment. You can go to the surgeon who treated you for wound control and advice.
