Dealing With Loved One's Depression
Posted: 01-16-06 12:51pm

My wife suffers from depression and we are on the verge of divorce. I am concerned about her welfare and love her totally. She is pushing for the divorce and I can't seem to convince her otherwise. She is currently on zoloft (50 mg) and diazepam (10 mg). She also is menopausal. She has lost about 25 percent of her body weight within the last 1.5 years. She is seeing a theropist and uses alcohol and marijuana to help her cope. I can't help but believe that the mixture of drugs and alcohol is complicating her life's decision for divorce. What are your thoughts?

Hi james

i too suffer from depression and at the moment all I want is to be by myself. I am in a long term relationship and so desparately want to love
my partner but I cannot feel anything. I remember the happy times and wish for it to be like that but at the moment I just feel nothing (apart from guilt) for putting him through all this. Try and be patient. I dont want to make any major decisions whilst im feeling depressed cos I dont know if I would be make the right one.

I hope you can hold on a little longer. Take care. Katie
