Has anyone had nose bleeds during their pregnancies? My nose keeps bleeding and I don't know if it's something I should worry about. I have called my Dr. But nothing. I just find it weird.

I had nose bleeds with my first. My doc said it was normal and if it became too much of an issue to try using a humidifier.

My doctor told me not to worry about it...It's just really inconvenient and gross. It just seems odd to me.

Hi sunflower-

this is my first pregnancy and about 2 weeks ago after I got up from a nap, my nose started to gush blood. I have not had a nose bleed since I was in elementary school. I bought a humidifier (sp?) and I have not had any problems since!

Nose bleeds are fairly common during pregnancy due to your increased blood volume, and changes in hormones. The vessles in your nose are tender, and close to the surface. While you may find it a nuisance, there really isn't anything to worry about, unless they happen very frequently, and you seem to be losing a lot of blood with each one.

Yep
Both pregnacies I had nose bleeds- usually while I was asleep for some reason. I found it happened mosly at the beginning of the pregnancies, and then setlled down- the last post is exactly what I was told by my doctor.
It is no big deal, just a pain in the arse- my pillow is still stained !!!!

I never had a nose bleed in my life, untill I was a couple months pregnant and I sneezed one night and then my nose wouldn't stop bleeding! It was crazy...But that was the only time it happened. I figured it had something to do with the pregnancy. And even though my nose doesn't bleed now, it's very dry here and I find I have a lot of blood in my nose. Odd. We have a humidifier but I never turn it on. Maybe I will try that.

Nosebleeds in meeting are the most embarrising thing in the world. Ceo of the company looking at you like your crazy and on the stuff. No one knows I am preggers at work. But they all think I am doing extra activities outside of work. Now I have to take a drug test.----ooops

I had to take a drug test when I started my new job. I told the technician that I had just found out that I could be pregnant, and if it would show up in or affect the test in any way. She said that it wouldn't. So unless your employer suspects the pregnancy and ask specifically that the test includes testing for pregnancy, then I wouldn't worry. Even if your employer does that it would be a violation of your rights. You signed consent for the drug test itself and nothing more. My question here is, though, why have you kept it from your employer so far?

Well, the whole floor has to have a test, they didn't just single me out....When I got hired on they said that there was only one...The one we took when we got hired on. I know that it's not a "random" drug test. But whatever....I am clean...

I haven't told my employer because I am trying to get out of the first trimester....I am getting a little hump and I won't be able to hide it for much longer. No one really knows I am preggers because of the early delivery I had last time and almost died....My whole family would think I am stupid and so would my employer for getting preggers again. (after the rough time I had last time.)
