Q: Low Sodium Levels

My brother-in-law's mom had a serious head injury. She was in the hospital for about a month, and now she's in an assisted living facility. She is unable to maintain regular sodium levels and is being given sodium twice a day.

I'm wondering if the facility should look into other possible causes for this other than the head injury - and will the problem correct itself if the head injury is the cause?
